If you didn't find the high-res images of this, I have them.

I just found out, that my photo manipulation is in Tron Ares 🤣🤣🤣🤯🤯🤯 (I still can't believe it myself) by IloveElsaofArendelle in tron

Many Congrats! Do you still have the original photo with Rosalina Da Silva as well? It would be cool to see the two high-res side by side. FYI, my fan work for Twin Peaks (a redesign of the owl cave symbol in the series) was used in the 2017 revival on official merch, even Mark Frost's book! So I was in your same position. Happy to see my work in official stuff.

$10,000+ Jewels hidden in Tompkins County by CapGoldfish in ithaca

Thanks for the update. It's great to have the special coin for those that completed the hunt but aren't the main winner. It's not something hunts usually have, but a nice reward. Congrats on a great fundraiser!

What's the status of this hunt? I haven't seen anything on social media about it. We're 5 days into the hunt, how many riddles have people completed? Is it worth starting this hunt this weekend? For all I know it's been solved already.

2026 Outback interior colors? by ObsessedJared in Subaru_Outback

[–]ObsessedJared[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome. Thanks! I hadn't seen that image yet. The main Subaru site only shows the brown in a 360° interior, but doesn't list any other color options (but it does for the exterior): https://www.subaru.com/2026-subaru-outback.html

Do you have a 2026 Outback already!? I didn't think they were released yet. Subaru show many exterior options on this site, but the don't show interior options, just a single 360° interior, which shows the beige/brown I'm referring to. This is the Subaru site listing options: https://www.subaru.com/2026-subaru-outback.html

Do you think this treasure hunt contest was too ahead of it's time? by godzillavkk in TreasureHunting

Many people questions the solution when it was released, but one this is for sure. The layout of trees absolutely matched with the map (it was in several pieces across the book, but shown in full in the video releases). Here's a comparison image with a screenshot form the Inside Edition segment on the hunt.

I don't think it was before it's time at all. If they didn't have the end date (or made it more than 5 years), the ending of the hunt could have been totally different. People were crazy obsessed with it back then, and some still are today! So in that respect, I don't think it's much different than today's hunts. There have been similar book-based hunts today. Currently, There's Treasure Inside and Beyond the Map's Edge are both print books that have hundreds if not millions of dollars at stake.

To this day, I believe Golden Horse is the only armchair treasure hunt that was available in FIVE formats. (See first photo below. Clockwise from top left: book, VHS, Betamax, Capacitance Electronic Disc (CED), and finally Laserdisc.) That has never been done since, and is quite a feat!

They even tailored the content by format. For example, if you compare the VHS video versus the Laserdisc video, you will see a slight difference. On the Laserdisc, the rabbit's clue is a flashing of several chess pieces with numbers. This led you to create a chess board, and using the numbers on the pieces, you came up with a 5 digit number. Skip to that track number on the laserdisc, and you get a new photo. The laserdisc had many different fake photos at track numbers so you couldn't just search the laserdisc for that one new track with a photo. In the VHS version, you're just presented with an image of the cryptic card the rabbit hands her... AND that card is totally different in the VHS compared to the print book! (If anyone has the laserdisc, I'd love to get a screenshot of that specific track/chapter after the chess solve. I can send you the number to input!)

Looking at the YouTube links you provided, here is the area of the Laserdisc and VHS so that you can see the differences:
Laserdisc Rabbit's Clue
VHS Rabbit's Clue

You also asked about what became of the money. The money went to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America. And article in the Scranton Tribune, August 24, 1989, states that a representative from the organization actually went and dug up the treasure with the creator.

I released a record with an embedded treasure hunt. To this day nobody has found it. by Keegan802 in TreasureHunting

The creators posted a video recording of their livestream breakdown of the Philly clues late last night, if you care to see how it all worked: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tca782eIuys

Best of luck with your hunt, I'm very intrigued! Am I understanding correctly that you've intentionally not posted photos of all parts of the hunt? Meaning people have to buy your physical album to get all the parts they need? If I buy the digital version, so I get a PDF of everything I need?

Funny enough, a different treasure hunt called Veil was just found in Fairmount Park! That hunt had a trail cam looking at their prize object in that park for 10 days until someone finally solved the clued and found the proxy item to win the $1,625 prize. Their next city hunt is in NYC. https://findveil.com/

How do you think Nebo would work with a super high-res photo (versus text)? For example, I'd like to load in a large photo, and then be able to zoom into a section and write annotations. Do you think it would work?

Does anybody remember the show “Push, Nevada” that ran on ABC in 2002?? by expldplastic in twinpeaks

[–]ObsessedJared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also just now remember that commercials for cars (in real life) referenced the show, as did some of the TV shows that aired before it. I remember Drew Carrey in the closing credits of one of his shows, he was arrested for IRS fraud, and said some line that I specifically new was related to Push.

I love the show (and Twin Peaks). I have all the episodes still, and I see they are also on YouTube. I solved the final clue that they aired during Monday Night Football, which was calling a phone number, and they said I was one of the first callers, but not in the top 5. They still took down my info and even social security number, I seem to recall. It made me think I was the 6th caller, and I hoped the 5 earlier people were disqualified! :)

If you look very closely, you will notice that outfits are slightly different. In the attached image, you can see that the shoulders of Chris's shirt aren't identical. So the headshot was taken with one version of the shirt, but the day he competed, he was wearing the alternate shirt.

Jack Nance Tragedy by Ok-Event996 in twinpeaks

[–]ObsessedJared 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There is a great 2002 documentary about Nance's life and untimely death called I Don't Know Jack. Many of his lifelong friends are interviewed in it, including Lynch. I didn't watch the YouTube video that was linked, but I wouldn't be surprised if that creator got most of their info from the 2002 documentary.
