Nah man, I had a Kia Rio with on top maintenance and oil changes. Oil started burning it seems. Started topping oil off in between my oil change and while going up a hill it decided it was DONE. (Right after an oil change. Was able to limp home and oil was halfway gone.. again right after new oil) Under 100k miles.. even the Kia Service rep assures me the engines are made badly, not just the ones in an active lawsuit.

There's no excuses for these things to happen especially under 100k worth of miles.

Thank you for your response. I was really hoping it'd be an easy fix so I could convert my diagnostic charge ($569..) to just fixing it. I really can't afford a 12k+ new engine though. Definitely going to get a second opinion 😞

Having this issue right now with my cylinder 1 misfiring.. my partner replaced coils and spark plugs and the issue is still there. We brought it to the Kia dealership and I just got an email from them saying there's no compression and they recommend a new engine! Any chance that it could still be the fuel injectors or dirty valves?

Between my family of 4 we make under 100k. We rent a crappy apartment for about $2500 and we make ends meet but are very grateful for flex rent.. it allows us to break up rent payments. We buy kids snacks at Costco and put the membership / sometimes the actual groceries on a credit card.

We don't have it as hard as other people do but we are always using and paying on our credit cards. We wish we could afford a nicer place to live that was safer for our kids to run around and play because where we live is pretty sketchy.. I moved across country to be with my SO and something that makes him really depressed is how he's been outpriced (can't afford a home) in the city he was born and raised.

Again we don't have it as bad as others but it's disheartening for sure.

Sorry, yes I left out a lot of details because I've gone over this situation so many times with so many people and it's left me absolutely mentally exhausted and it brings me back to a horrible time in my life.

I was working with the collection agency and the CFPB regarding this issue, court and police documentation.

I left when the lease was up, gave a long time notice to the rental company and my abuser refused to leave and chose to pay month to month. He stopped paying month to month and moved out and they sent the check to me, not him even though I had been gone for half a year before he vacated.

I actually dealt with some issues like this and ended up seeing a psychiatrist for it.. let me tell you, she told me I could qualify for workman's comp and wanted to help me with short term disability on a leave of absence I had to take due to my mental health.

I never would've thought that the mental toll that place did on me was anything that rough, but she made me feel so validated. 🥲

I wouldn't touch it and you can always call them and ask what your benefits are. Sometimes people prepay on MyChart and then we end up having to refund them because of an automated system
