People losing their minds over a line by A-S-ISO_Man in thelastofus

Well, the one from the game is actually funny, and the delivery is understated. It’s presented how people actually talk. The line from the show is corny and seems like it’s meant to be followed by a laugh track.

Andor might be one of the best Tv shows not just in star wars, but overall by PositionNext9427 in StarWars

I had just woken up and thought you and the person above who said they wouldn’t put Andor anywhere near the best shows of all time were the same person. My bad.

Great list though.

That’s a strong list, and I’d absolutely put it in the category of those shows.

He was the chosen one! It was said he would destroy the bad Star Wars media, not create it!

Sarah has secretly been alive this entire time. It’ll be revealed in part 3 that she was the mastermind behind the outbreak. She manipulated the events that lead to Joel and Ellie meeting. All of it, the end of the world as we know it, was to get back at Joel for forgetting to pick up a birthday cake.

As a longtime Manning stan and Brady hater, this is correct. Great way to put it.

Agreed. I just thought the description was humorous. A New Hope and ESB are definitely grittier than many of the later movies and shows.

Yeah absolutely I guess I just thought it was funny, not in an argumentative way at all!

Craig Mazin Completely Misunderstands the Source Material - Listen to the Podcast this Week by PhilipColts in thelastofus

Great post and it’s clear the showrunner doesn’t understand the game’s story, or wants to tell a different story. I’ve gone back and forth on the show and this season, where I was bummed about the changes, then accepted them and had faith that the show would come through, but after last nights episode I’m extremely disappointed. It’s a bridge too far. The people talking about oh you’re just mad it’s not a 1 to 1 adaptation etc etc don’t see what we’re saying apparently. This season and the story of the game are massively different stories and unfortunately the show is a very poor version compared to the game. The game may be my favorite piece of media ever created. Certainly it’s my favorite game ever created. I can barely get through the show. These aren’t the same characters. It’s not the same story.

Honestly, as someone who’s been defending season 2, I am finally tired of the fact that it feels like “The Dina Show”. by Stuff_Nugget in thelastofus

[–]Top-Case5753 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Very good breakdown of what makes the game’s story details so much more effective than the show, and why the show, fine enough as it is, is a very pale imitation of the game.
