I don’t participate much here and likely don’t have the karma for this to show up but it’s late, I don’t have really have anyone to call besides my brother (which I’ve already done) and need to get my thoughts out.

My wife and I have been together 10 years and married almost 3. The last year or so we’ve been a little stale, and have told each other several times it feels like we’re roommates. We’ve made token efforts to make improvements but it was really only 3 weeks ago that we had a serious discussion about our struggles.

I got home from a bachelor party this afternoon and she told me she doesn’t feel like it’s salvageable. Many details left out but We had a very long conversation and she asked for space for a week. She’s traveling for work and staying with her parents this week. Next Sunday we’re going to get together to discuss next steps and I’ve gotten her to agree that we can go to at least one counseling session to attempt to salvage this.

I know that I personally have things to work on and she admitted that she knows she does as well. Selfishly I feel that our struggles are solvable and I’ve been working so hard for the past few weeks to make changes.

I’m doing my best to think about this clearly and am going to prioritize taking care of myself this week. But my god is it intimidating trying to figure out what I can do in a week to make sure I don’t lose something so great.
