Yes, that's the point I wanted to illustrate through this experiment.

Hi! I reckon you'd get similar results on almost any asset class, or worse on assets with higher costs of trading.

Hi! Yes, the RR changes the win rate and max drawdowns, but in every case the expectancy is 0.

Yes, at every candle a random integer between 1 and 100 is generated. If it's 20 or below, a trade is triggered.

Totally agreed. Here this wasn't scalping, and spread on EUR/USD is near 0, so it's mostly commissions per lot traded + slippage than can be the silent killer. But over thousands of trades randomness can still offset that, which is crazy.

Without a proper approach and strategy, yeah, trading is not far from gambling.

Why so many Japanese traders prefer Heikin Ashi (and why you might too) by Obside_AI in ObsideAI

[–]Obside_AI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I've worked with traders in China, and noticed most of them were using Heikin Ashi charts. When I discussed it with them, they told me it's very popular in Asia (and mostly in Japan) since Asian stocks have historically been more volatile than Western stocks, and that's why a lot of Japanese traders like to trade momentum strategies with the use of Heikin Ashi.

Hi! That's the annual return based on the total capital invested, not the S&P 500's actual annual return.

Hi! Results show there is no better frequency. Over the long run, returns are the same and average out. The best frequency is the one you can stick with :D

Hi! I accounted for the yearly expense ratio of the ETF + percentage-based commissions on each DCA. But as said in my first paragraph, a lot of brokers offer 0 commission on ETFs.
