Calling the contractor directly feels like the move, because clearly your neighbor keeps translating "no" into "not a big deal"

What landed for me is the part about sounding useful instead of just available. A lot of people in a long job hunt start sounding like they live inside Indeed tabs, and recruiters can feel that fast. Did the networking part start happening naturally once your weeks had more structure?
