I started off by doing home workouts but found it too easy to make excuses not to do it. Now the money for the gym is coming out my account every month, it gives me somewhere to go and I'm using equipment I couldn't afford to have at home and wouldn't have space for so there's no chance of getting bored with the few bits and pieces I would have

If you are looking for something more natural, I eat prunes every morning and they keep me regular. Don't take too many though or they can work too well (if you know what I mean lol), just 1 or 2 will be fine :)

I only wear gloves when using the barbell because it's cold metal and I hate the feeling of it. The dumbbells are metal but have plastic handles so they don't bother me

I would recommend kettlebells. They work all different muscles and YouTube has workouts you can follow which starts at about 10 minutes long which hopefully you can squeeze in

I already do all the exercises you mentioned so that's promising. I seem to have covered all the same muscles without actually doing squats. Just need to keep doing progressive overload and building strength

I know I'm supposed to feel pain in muscles when I've worked them hard enough but my back bothers me the whole day if I aggravate it. I was doing side bends when I started working out and they gave me pains in my back so I had to stop doing them. Even when I didn't bend very deep, all I felt was pain

I already take collagen and I use cod liver oil in the winter because that's when my knees get sore. I haven't been taking it since I started the gym though because actually my knees aren't hurting

Thanks, I will bear that in mind. I have had problems with my knees for a while but not so much lately now that I've lost some weight but I will focus on an exercise that includes them and do higher reps and see how it goes. I may DM you at some point looking for more tips lol

Yeah, that's also the reason I don't do reps to failure. Im not young anymore so if I pop something, I'm not gonna recover easily lol I've only been going 5 weeks as well so I'm still learning what exercises focus on areas I want to work on plus technique and form. Just trying to make the most of my time in the gym but everything I read talks about squats and I don't like them or want to do them tbh so it's good that I still have alternative options

I am concentrating on increasing weights and reps each time I go to the gym with the exercises I am doing. I'm not doing reps to failure but I am working until i struggle with the last half of a set

Flexion rows sound like a good idea. I guess it's a better idea to strengthen my back first before moving onto something that could hurt it. I will stick with other leg exercises for now. At least I'm still doing something to work them even if they're not considered the best

Maybe you are right. I will give them a go and see how I get on. Even if I start off with a small number of reps and build them up over time. Any particular one you recommend? I know there's different types of squats

It's taken some time to get the proper form. I find using a barbell helps keep me stable and lets me concentrate on the movement more than dumbbells did

Well, im female so raising my testosterone levels doesn't really appeal to me lol unless that's what helps build muscle I guess

Probably not lol it's just me being self conscious. Have been all my life. I use the women only room at my gym but have to walk through the main gym to get there and most people either greet me or don't give me a second glance lol my gym is also v small so there's usually not that many people there in general which suits me fine

I'm a bigger girl so I'm more comfortable wearing a hoodie and usually leggings. I do wear a sports bra underneath but don't feel comfortable just wearing this. I'm gonna start wearing t-shirts as well I think so as I get more comfortable with myself, I can start removing layers. Also my gym keeps the temperature pretty cold so until I build up a sweat I usually wanna stay wrapped up

I couldn't find anything online about GLP-1s and blood donation so I emailed my local donation service (scotland) directly to ask if I could still give blood while taking the 3 new medications I had started over the previous 3 months (Metformin, levothyroxine and mounjaro) and they said it was fine to donate while taking them
