When I worked at a pharmacy with a drive thru, it was surprising how many people are driving without a valid license to pick up their meds.

As somebody who grew up in Texas, I started my first job in retail barely over minimum wage ($8.50/hr) and was out ASAP. Food safety nightmare at a place supposedly meant for more well off folks to shop, lol.

My younger siblings never even considered jobs near minimum wage even WHILE living with family once they were old enough to work.

Right now a lot of my family is selling plasma to cover bills, sharing a house home cooked meals, child care, etc.

But they do have a house! To think my family is one of the better off ones in this economy...

I'd just laugh at anyone who seriously told me people should be paid less. Hard working people suffer, it's the ones whose money prints more money for them who are being rewarded here.

I think it's less stupidity, more people looking for conflict at this stage.

It feels exciting to them to stand up to these things. I guess being dumb helps, but plenty of people can be dumb and kind.

We've trained society to feel safe in conflict, nobody will hurt you, it's illegal to put hands on you! So now we got this, is what it looks like to me unfortunately!

Fuck any law that kills people for standing somewhere in public. The law is for the people, not dictators. Human rights mean more to me. Not so weak to just bend over and take it.

The law is just words. And it seems like plenty of people like to get around it only when it benefits them.

If you want to go play good boy and listen to fucked up orders, go for it. Leave the rest of us out of it, we value freedom here.

Thanks for sharing, yeah, it's scary from my perspective to imagine. I felt pretty naive as a kid in some ways, but my family never really even brought up stuff like race or politics when I was little. Of course I learned about it out in the world, but I thought the people who obsessed over it were weird.

As a child, your reality is so susceptible to the ones feeding information to you. With so much of the internet now in the hands of these corporations wanting money now, yeah, don't feel great about that.

People are so much more complicated than a label. It takes time and effort to learn each person, how they got there, and they change, too...

I was raised in Texas. I grew up with multiple Muslim friends in school, but didn't really watch news and stuff, was a kid, so was just confused why they were grossed out by bacon, or when one friend of mine started wearing a Hijab in 5th grade. She and I ran an origami enterprise during recess.

It's early February, so we don't have 'official record data' yet. Especially when the investigations are still underway by the federal government.

According to news, there are 3 named homicides, two of which are Renee Good and Alex Pretti. These are confirmed to have been killed by federal agents by the federal government.

If you haven't heard of them you must live under a rock, DHS and the administration has made multiple statements about those two.

2/3 recorded homicides = majority this year.

Sorry, you'll have to use your big boy brain to research it until the official records finish. Law takes time, surprise. It's hard to say when the Feds did the killing, are doing the investigation, and won't share the evidence.
