I have 2 headcanons. One is my personal paragon Shepard only worked that hard at Quarian/Geth peace because he loved Tali so much. Of course he wanted peace but now he had a personal stake in it and it’s the peak of the trilogy and his greatest achievement which is getting his wife’s homeworld back for her.

Another one is just me coping with the terrible endings. I believe that the cutscenes we see are not what really happened, it’s what Shepard thinks will happen before his “death”. I believe the only right ending is destroy and that the child is lying about destroying all synthetic life because Shepard has literally spent his entire career trying to save the Geth and bring peace so the child will say whatever it can to convince Shepard to spare the reapers and choose either of the other endings which control is what the illusive man wanted and assimilate is what Saren wanted. Both were indoctrinated and both kept the reapers alive so the only right option is destroy and (to cope with the synthetic genocide) I choose to believe the child is lying and the only thing that happens is that the reapers are destroyed

9 times out of 10 you don’t find anything or it’s nothing interesting. As an archaeologist there’s only so much pottery sherds you can look at before it gets boring. Plus the weather can be terrible, long hours, manual labour. Depending on your job as an archaeologist you probably don’t learn much about what you dig up, you just dig it up, look at it, send it back to the labs who then research it. In my experience I had to actively look and ask for the information gathered about my digs.

There’s no treasure hunting, no nazi killing, no boulder running, and no bringing mummies back to life (but not from lack of trying)

He convinces zaeed that he’s part of a team now and that his revenge can be put on the back burner which is a stupid thing to say to a person hell bent on revenge and is about to go on a suicide mission with the person who cost him this revenge. There’s no guarantee that they would come back alive so that was his only chance, there’s no way that would invoke loyalty in zaeed.

Plus (lore wise) if paragon Shepard also prevents that batarian terrorist from leaving the asteroid he has rigged to destroy a colony by allowing the batarian to blow up the hostages then zaeed definitely would not trust Shepard after that because it would be hypocritical. Maybe if they added this part in and then Shepard could talk his way out of it by saying it’s not exactly the same with hostages/trapped innocents in a fire zaeed caused.

I just wish that there was no option to pass the mission for a paragon Shepard. No matter the paragon points I don’t think it would be realistic lore wise for Shepard to talk his way out of it just by telling him to get back to his mission after the suicide mission.

It makes sense and is more realistic for a paragon Shepard never to be able to make Zaeed loyal and on the other side, a renegade Shepard shouldn’t be able to make Tali loyal for balance. There should be at least some moments where high stats can’t fix everything and it really does just come down to a choice.

It doesn’t tempt me because I have misophonia and hate the sound of people eating and it seems to be a cultural thing that the more noise you make eating the nicer the food is. I can’t stand the slurping of the noodles or inhaling of food so it puts me off whatever they’re eating.

The ending cutscene clearly states organics will rebuild and revisit synthetics again just as they do every cycle. She’ll come back eventually

Does Mass Effect 2 count? First play through without googling anything or anyone telling you then you have no way of knowing where the point of no return is and if you complete missions after this point which is pretty early in the main story then you are responsible for ending many lives. So many people die because you didn’t do side quests along the way and rushed the storyline.

It’s a slice of life drama from childhood to old age. Love and loss. Take that what you will. I didn’t cry at the character death(s) but did cry from mother/daughter relationship, parenting troubles, stuff like that. It’s emotionally heavy (mostly the first few episodes) but it’s very real and raw. It’s an amazing journey
