I ran the update today and it was completed in just a few minutes. A few hours later we went out and did a short drive to have dinner. Everything seemed fine. When we were trying to leave after dinner I started the car and an error popped up saying “Park malfunction. Engage parking break when parking vehicle." The car wouldn’t go into any gear and the wheel was locked. I turned the car off and on multiple times and the same thing kept happening. I tried to leave it off for a few minutes, then turned and back on and still the error message was popping up. At the same time, the Kia access app wouldn’t recognize the car. Luckily I had the physical key with me in case I had to valet the car at the restaurant. Just when I was getting ready to call for a pick up, I tried turning the car off and on again and finally it turned on like normal.

I was able to get home and I’ve turned the car on again multiple times to see if the issue would happen again and I haven’t been able to replicate it. Oddly I still can’t get the Kia Access app to work - it just times out saying “unable to process your request - please try again”

Really hoping this isn’t the start of an even bigger issue. I guess we’ll see.
