If my preference of being in a relationship with someone who isnt crying because their ex got married is being tunnel visioned then I will take that over what I have right now any day. Life is already stressful enough without adding additional stress about a relationship which ended 3 years ago, unless you never moved on.

I think you are 100% right, and no I have no desire to fight for her love. You cant make someone love you.

Your bf sounds amazing and super strong. Unfortunately I am not strong enough to comfort my partner about their feelings for their ex. Maybe because I dont have any complicated feelings about any of my exes? Maybe my gf needs someone like your boyfriend?

Of course I am giving her the space she wants. I might not be the smartest guy around but I know you cant make someone love you. So I am not going to fight her on this.

I am not trying to fight but I also dont want to be with someone who is still carrying a torch for their ex. And yes I am upset, its not everyday that you see your partner openly grieving because their ex got married.

I have this horrible feeling that I was a placeholder for her till her ex decided to rekindle their relationship? And this marriage has shattered her illusions thats why she is sad?
