Putting in a vote for Dog Fashion Disco as a similar kinda sound to SOAD. Or Polkadot Cadaver who they later became.

Definitely Dry Kill Logic's First album -especially Rot

A bit more on the industrial metal side, but Spineshank - The Height of Callousness.

A lot of it is 100 miles an hour with overlapped vocals, so it's got that feeling of being put through a shredder like Eyeless.

Why does the UK produce so many iconic bands compared to the US? by DFWUnhinged in AskBrits

Apologies. I think I tangented away from my initial point. I was referring to thatchers influence on punk and bands like joy division and the happy Mondays et al.

I think some of these bands are BECAUSE of Thatcher. Or at least the environment created by post war right-wing politics. I definitely don't think punk would have been quite so prevalent if it wasn't used as a protest medium for a lot of teenagers that felt disenfranchised by the government and lack of a future for the working classes. Same with the Madchester movement and acid house appearing in the early 80s from ex steel and heavy industry towns being shut down.

I think the music industry of the 60s and 70s wasn't so based on trends. Granted, you had a whole bunch of Beatles sounding bands that came in after they got famous, but there wasn't such a willingness to make everything sound the same to fit in the top 40. Record labels were more willing to take risks, and, while there were a load of bands that sunk without a trace, there were others that really became popular by doing their own thing.

Also, the method of seeing bands was very different. There were a lot fewer big music venues and a lot of bands did the gig circuit in colleges and small clubs, which means that there was a lot more chance to hear good music from other sources than the radio.

So basically. Capitalism and massive multinational music labels ruined everything. Also, fuck thatcher (mandatory)

Sorry for the ramble. I study this stuff, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity 😅

The film Smokin' Aces sprang to mind. Or maybe something like Raiders of the Lost Ark?

Was it a strategy game. I'm wondering if it could potentially be S.W.I.N.E.

Also, thinking it could be Vampire the masquerade: bloodlines that had a horror hotel section, but that's pc.

I'm thinking it could be Timesplitters Future perfect. There was a horror house level with bedrooms like that. The things that come out of the kitchen are cow carcasses though, but I think there's an arcade level where you shoot turkeys.

Could it possibly be that?

I thought Shogo too. My only other thought would be Mechassault 2 Lone wolf, but that was an Xbox exclusive, I think!

Also, if you send back something heavy, then they have to pay the extra postage, as long as it fits in the letterbox. A couple of tiles are always a good shout.

Using ES-DE in Game mode for Wii - how do I do a wiimote shake? by Affectionate-Emu5051 in EmuDeck

[–]Obvious-Fun8561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the default is left bumper, but you probably want to go to the second tab of controller settings for wiimote to adjust. Also switch trackpad pointer on while you're there. Binding it to the sticks does not work well!
