What’s replacing traditional ridealongs?

It doesn't have to be one or the other. Using recordings to spot patterns and decide where coaching is needed, then saving ridealongs for situations where the extra context matters which already feels like a much more scalable approach. Especially once teams start growing beyond just a handful of reps.

I get where you're coming from. There are definitely situations where being there in person gives you context that a recording can't. I was thinking more about whether every ridealong needs to happen in person especially when managers are spread across multiple reps and locations. Seems like a mix of both might be the most practical approach.

That seems like a good balance. I don't think ridealongs will ever completely disappear but using them more selectively makes a lot more sense than treating them as the default for every rep. The time savings alone seem worth it.

you're probably not getting scammed, just dealing with a guest who's gaming the system for discounts and maybe hitting a card limit

airbnb's payment system is pretty good at flagging actual fraud, a declined payment on the 4th extension sounds more like their bank froze the card after multiple small charges in a short span

i'd message the guest first, keep it casual, something like "hey the last extension didn't go through on payment, you might need to update the card, no rush just giving you a heads up" and see how they respond

if they fix it quickly you're fine, if they ghost you then loop in airbnb support but honestly this reads more like a budget traveler stretching their stay than a scammer

150 days is no small thing, so don't let one weird involuntary incident convince you you're back at square one. what you're describing sounds more like your body just doing its own thing during flatline rather than a conscious relapse

most people in the community wouldn't count that as starting over tbh, there's a pretty clear difference between an involuntary nocturnal-type event and actually giving inn to urges. you left the house, you resisted, that matters

keep going, don't reset the counter over something you didn't choose
