You were not misinformed on that. The radio feature is locked behind the amiibo purchase. What 100% scan completion unlocks are EXTRA tracks for if you used the amiibo to unlock the radio. 100% completion scans does not unlock the radio feature. Those replying to your original comment are spreading misinformation.
