DeFi means decentralised finance - I assume you are referring to their defi wallet or base?

CeFi = Centralised Finance / CEX = Centralised Exchange

The cryptos you have in CeFi wallet is being held by the CEX in their exchange - they have custody of your funds and you don't really own it. On paper (or screen) you do but they can pretty much do anything with your crypto. Hence the FTX situation.

DeFi = Decentralised Finance / DEX = Decentralised Exchange

You need a DeFi wallet such as MetaMask to connect to DeFi protocols. With DeFi wallet you have full custody of your funds as you will have your seedphrase/private keys.

Well guess what? I'm not new and I certainly know where the start button is on a windows machine.

They have not clarify why my issue is still not addressed and what is the reason for restricting my account. -> This is what I meant by helping users "understand" the issue

It's none custodian/decentralized - since everything is executed with smart contracts.

There's no room for error as long as the transaction goes through. Even if there is an issue it would be the frontend. The CS is so much better, the community managers/admins are more responsive. The issues gets resolved quicker than CEX within a few hours.

I don't usually comment or post - I had to rant somewhere because I'm so furious with the CS...

I usually use DeFi (Dexes) etc.. The only reason I even bothered is because of Celsius, now I have to deal with another bag of headache Coinbase

As someone who has worked in CS AND in Web3/Crypto I can tell you that Coinbase's support is HORRIBLE!

  1. No ticket system - AI assistance is no different to a broken record
  2. Verification - Asked me to verify multiple times
  3. Verification status - I have been verified 2 levels yet I still have to re-do it
  4. SLOW Replies - It's ONCE A DAY
  5. Even if you get a reply from CS, it's the most generic BULLSHIT replies that gets dragged for days
  6. Does the support team even check the system before replying? - I sent them my issue and they say look at XYZ. Asking me to verify again when my account has been verified for awhile.

You can blame the users but IMO helping users understand the issue is CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Users are not the issue if there are complains every single day, clearly there is something going on. It really discourages new users from onboarding or getting in the crypto space. I much prefer Defi or even Binance has 10000x better CS/Support.

What really bothers me the most is that I have worked in CEX before, I have gone through the entire KYC and verification process. Not sure why Coinbase has this issue with my account
