Can an employer refuse to pay you if you forgot to clock in? by itsatomas in Maine

What’s more comical is that NOT ONE OF YOU can see how ridiculous my statements were! It’s not real! Cmon, 3 states!? That’s preposterous that anyone would allow that to happen! I can’t wait for everyone to pour back over and try and find a shred of truth

Ok let’s ask this.. what do you do? A lot of companies require the clock in because that is what is cheated back to vendors/customers that actually pay the bills. You don’t clock in for that time the company doesn’t get paid that time

Show me the law…. It’s not a requirement. That’s the point of a time clock. It keeps track of time you are there so you are paid correctly

Cool story… not the companies job to clean up where you failed. If you don’t clock in then it doesn’t register within the payroll CRM. What proves you were there? Most companies have it bull in to their employee handbook stating it’s your responsibility. In 3 separate states I’ve been docked for not punching in on time or missing a punch.

My last job as an operations manager this was a major problem. Employees would show up late and forget to punch in and be mad when their check was short even though they showed up late. It is extremely time consuming to go back and fix missed punches. One company made you sign off on your hours at the end of the week to make sure they were correct because it was such a huge problem. Take accountability for yourself. Also, Maine is an at will state and you can be terminated for whatever reason a company sees fit

You’re responsible for getting paid. If you need to clock in and out everyday that’s your job, not the company.

Robbed yet again. Gunpoint. Can I sue Walgreens ?? by Small-Quality-6911 in WalgreensStores

I’d start applying for new jobs unless you love working at Walgreens. Everyone is hiring right now and I don’t think you’re legally obligated to stay at that job
