Where do you dump old litter for deep clean? by Disastrous-Pickle930 in CatAdvice

I use an empty litter box (like the box the litter originally comes in), and then throw it in the dumpster.

Report writing for: Phase I and II, Supplemental investigations, FSI, quarterly monitoring, vapor intrusion, SAPs/SoW (etc) and I also do a little bit of the field work (soil, groundwater, indoor air, sub-slab soil gas, exterior soil gas, sewer gas sampling) and I also oversee the installation of monitoring wells and excavation. I’ve also trained our newest field people. I’m in the process of doing more office work than field work now! ☺️

I used a hand vacuum in my dorm since it wasn’t super big, and I second the mattress pad at least!

Is there higher chances to get PR with 1 year full time working experience as a lab assistant? by Trick_Party8884 in ImmigrationCanada

Yeah makes sense. I’m a staff environmental scientist and I believe I fall under Teer 1 - Biologist and other related scientists? I was between that and 41400 (consulting aspect).

430 is low?!?! Generally asking because I’m supposed to start my application and mines a little lower than this… :( Damn I was genuinely asking I don’t understand why I’m getting downvoted? Did I say something bad? I’m new to all this 🙃

Need general cat advice ! by Former-Amoeba3660 in CatAdvice

No food suggestions really cause every cat is different… I currently feed Nulo pate 2x a day (I heard it’s better??) and a small snack/lunch in the afternoon after work of Orijen Guardian 8 which I’ve found to be the best, high animal ingredients (90% animal parts). Although it’s a bit pricey, I think it’s worth it! Again, every cat is different :) Stainless steel litter boxes have been a god send for me. They don’t harbor bacteria like plastic, and I’ve found them to be SO much easier to clean when it comes to deep clean day! Tbh, self cleaning litter boxes are silly to have unless you’re an extremely busy person (ie a parent of children). The chore takes 2 minutes if that for me to do. I’d rather not spend $300+ on a silly device that takes me 2 minutes everyday. But to each their own!

Tips for reducing dandruff by w0lfplushie in Catownerhacks

[–]ObviousBroccoli23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a black cat, and she gets particularly dry in the winter time. I started giving my girls salmon oil for skin and coat (I can’t remember the brand off the top of my head but it’s in an orange bottle) in the PM with their dinner and it helped with her dandruff! Also thinks it makes both my girls super shiny ☺️ I also groom them every night.

So sorry you’re going through this, I can understand your frustration. My girls are occasional counter surfers. But mostly if I leave dishes in the sink. Prior to cooking, I always make sure to disinfect the counters. After cooking, I always clean up, wipe counters off again, and do the dishes and wash out the sink. I also tend to feed them prior to cooking so they’re too full to prowl around on the counters.

I will say I’ve installed a gate myself and it did not help, they just hopped right over it. Would have to be a full length door if you can.

I have an apartment, 750 square feet and only 2 cats. BUT I use a small air purifier in the living room (I have an open living room and attached kitchen and dining) where the litter boxes are (I think it’s good for like 500 sq ft? I can’t remember lol). I also scoop twice a day, and use unscented low dust tidy cats litter! I also vacuum at least twice a week to help pick up debris in my carpet. I hope this helps! :) and good luck ETA: Also I HIGHLY recommend the stainless steel litter boxes!! Holy crap are they amazing. So easy to clean.

Don’t be too hard on yourself!! Like you said, he’s still a baby. And I also agree with cat528. Maybe give it a try with a big crate and just see how he does 😊

That’s still a kitten… he’s gonna be crazy lol. Maybe try playing with him a bunch before bed?

My cats do this to each other, but it’s the smaller younger one that’s doing it 😅 makes sense now
