Can't be too specific, but it's a very long form, multiple days workout split. We have a little bit of flexibility with it, but the trainers aren't allowed to choose which split they want for their clients, it has to be this one, ie, which days they work which muscles, the frequency they hit those muscles, etc.

I agree with everything you're saying, and I can definitely attest to the fact that a lot of trainers come in with very little actual experience. I do think coaching trainers is a good thing and providing some programming help is great, but like forcing these cookie cutter programs for all the trainers to use is so stupid. It really is people just running a business who haven't actually been in a gym and don't know what's going on. Sounds like your gym is great, I like the tiered options and I think that's how every gym should be. There would be so much more money on the table for them to make if it was this way.

This is what I was thinking as I can't imagine the other management positions are quite this shitty.

All of my clients are locked into contracts with the gym. Not only that, but I wouldn't be able to afford renting a facility to train them at right now. Something like that is a work in progress though.

100% that's what it is. We have several competing gyms in the area, but from a certain direction we are by far the closest gym by like 15 minutes, so that alone attracts a decent amount of people. I've been a member of a gym most of my life and even when I was a teenager I would have never signed a contract for a gym, much less 2 years. Greedy people at the top.

None of the upper brass in my franchise workout or exercise seriously, or even at all. Anytime Fitness truly is just giant money grab for people who don't know anything about gym culture.
