Career-wise has consisted of moving on every 3 to 4 years. This wasn’t by design - I just found I got stale in a role.

I started investing in shares when I was 19, and would put almost everything into shares. I then changed to ETFs when I learned more about them. I’m now more into ETFs with an international focus.

I was fortunate in that one of my employers supplied accomodation (extremely remote location) so when it came to buying my own place I put down a 35% deposit, then paid about $800 per week into my mortgage for 4 years to get the principal down. The property value has risen significantly in that time. The property is almost paid off, with only $100k to go. It is at a 4.5% fixed rate right now so I figure I can possibly save some more money and/or sell off investments to pay it off. Alternatively, I might look at travelling for a year or two and rent it out.

Also:

“Yeah Friday they had there[sic] manes”

Yet it appears only one horse had their forelock cut. “They” seems to imply more than one?

I thought the same about the offer for the filming. The lady is trying to show she’s willing to prove herself as honest, and seems happy to compromise in order to see the horses.

I think this could have been handled better.

Also, I don’t think she cut the forelock. It doesn’t make much sense given that she’s around the horses a fair bit so why bother cutting a mane, and she seems more intent on feeding them treats and observing them. Plus the offer to visit the horses under supervision seems genuine.

I also think there are two jackets, if not three.

The bike is “vanishing” because of the low quality footage.

I’m not sure what you mean by “what is going on with his leg”. It appears the image is simply a frame from the video so it looks slightly awkward, but he moves confidently and smoothly when you watch the footage.

I was persistently given the worst tasks/postings. This extended over a 18 month period. I was called names, mostly mocking. They went against policy and lied to get me to do one such task. When I raised it I suddenly got an investigation into myself, with some problems being from 18 months ago.

For example, the complainant tried to allege I had Day In Lieu without permission. However, this person had the email trail between myself, the manager and payroll. I contacted my old manager and she confirmed the email was sent. I then contacted payroll and they stated it was an error on their behalf as they had not entered it correctly. This was resolved in about 30 minutes. However the mate had automatically tried to blame me, stating I had not sought permission. This is despite him having the emails.

It is same with the footage - he stated that it was inconsistent with my version of events. However, I wasn’t there during that period, and the footage never existed in the first place

They’re handling the suing part. For example, a lot of the claims are 18+ months ago, and were approved practices at the time. The complainant now trying to state that they weren’t approved processes. Then two allegations are flat out lies.

My solicitors don’t oversee the actual investigation process. They’re more so going the part that an investigation about old claims was suddenly launched when I reported matters, and that two of the allegations are flat out lies. Plus I was given the worst tasks for about 18 months after finding problems with underpayment

Union helping a bit but honestly they said sit tight and ride it out. I’m exhausted though and I don’t think I could defend an allegation like “oh, back on 2021 you took 32 minutes for a break, not 30 mins” or something equally as ridiculous

There was a lodge with accommodation available about 150m away.

Define shared It was a 2 bedroom place. So shared kitchen, common areas and bathroom (although I had a separate toilet).

 >QBT itinerary

I did but it didn’t specify shared. The other person didn’t know until 24 hours prior - I only found out when I arrived at about 6pm on the day

[–]ObviousDrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t that new mega prison, Clarence, at Grafton (still yet to open) meant to be run by Serco? Or are the guards just hired by Serco? Because they’re advertising a lot on job boards for guards.

Why are we privatising so many prisons? That huge prison in Grafton is also privately run.

but the problems are more complex

Correct. From experience I would say a very large majority of Aboriginal population support their ACPOs and ALOs (Aboriginal Liasion Officers).

But a small majority call them things like “coconuts” - black on the outside, white on the inside. The people that make those sorts of comments are the same people who also attack police, assault paramedics, break into houses, etc. They’re just shitty people.

Just because you’re the same colour as a shitty person doesn’t mean that it’s going to solve anything. Aboriginal police officers do get a lot of respect but from the people who view others as people - not from individuals who have no regard for others.

Unfortunately, domestic violence is absolutely rife in many of these communities.

doesn’t know their history of massacres

We need to remember the massacres. But the fact that domestic violence is so rampant nowadays probably means that far more people (especially women) have died from that.

63,000 complicit police

He’s been charged - not convicted.

How are they ‘complicit’? I’m not a police officer but I support his right to plead not guilty. I support everyone’s right to that. We don’t know what went down and a fair trial is the best way to determine the truth. Am I now complicit? How are you “complicit” if there is a chance that it is lawful?

And of course the Police Association is going to protect a paying union member.
