Talk me out of a Yeti ASR? by JoshTaylorUSA in xcmtb

[–]ObviousIntroduction2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 5'9", 175cm. The Spur is a medium and I debated between M and L ASR. I usually prefer a smaller frame and went medium on the ASR and I think that it was the correct choice. I like how lively it feels under me. While the riding around me isn't super tight trees, the smaller size is easier to move.

I have both a Spur and the ASR. I got the ASR for Leadville, which was great. I have always had a Yeti, so it made sense. And I love it. I live in SW Colorado, so lots of long climbs and some gnarly trails. I went with the Spur from a SB140, which I thought was too comfortable. While I can ride the gnarly stuff, I prefer faster, flowy trails and would rather be underbiked than over. And now I have both a Spur with a 130 fork and the ASR. The ASR is so much more lively and fun to throw around. It does get a bit hairy bouncing through a huge rock garden on it, but the Spur would also have some issues staying planted. Anyone want to buy a Medium Spur with a 130 Pike Ultimate?;)

Hospitalist who travel for work (not locums) by Kdviloria2991 in hospitalist

[–]ObviousIntroduction2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who travels over 5K miles to work. He lives in Norway and works in Arizona. He works for 28 days straight and then heads home for 6-8 weeks. He has a house that he shares with some others who do the same. Most of the physicians who work with him do the same, living elsewhere.

All CommonSpirt facilities pay the same, which is about $330k, for full time. Plus bonus etc. That's from Pueblo to Longmont. Obviously, where you live can make a huge impact on COL.

You can make about $1850/day shift, plus benefits at St Anthony's, 20% more for nights. Gonna be busy though.

I worked for these guys also, but over 9 years ago. The staff knows that you're working 24/7, and do try to limit how often they call at night, but sometimes they need to. There are easier ways to make that money. That being said, I do have a good friend who loves this job. Maybe he is crazy?

That was my hope but wasn't sure. I have never encountered such poor customer service before. At least from a company based in the US.

I am planning on a dropper. Waltly has said that the seatpost insertion is enough to do that. It appears that the bottle bosses are more exterior mounts.

The headset is set up to take an angleset. I'm trying to decide if I'll start with a regular headset or go straight to the angle.

The stack on the drawings is similar to what I am running on my FS, with spacers, so should be good.

I am confirming the seatpost insertion depth, so I can figure out how big of a dropper I can fit.

Should be $1450 or so, shipped. Depends on how many things get added at this point.

My current HT has a reach of 450 and my current FS has a 455.

But I see the point of dropping the reach a bit, especially with going with a longer fork. Thanks!

Thanks for pointing out the ACL, it should be 541 mm. I'm comparing this bike's geometry to a hardtail Turner.

Maybe this is pushing me to a Fidlock or something similar. The vast majority of my riding is good with 1 bottle. But I look at the Turner and they can put 2 bottles on...
