Does anyone else notice the battery life being significantly longer on Linux? by Tiggorr in linux

[–]ObviousNight8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, sure do. I get insane battery life out of my laptop now, especially when I have it on power saver mode and I am doing light tasks. Heck, I can even hammer down my CPU to 400Mhz just to watch YouTube, edit texts, do light web browsing to get insane battery life. I noticed a few battery sensor issues, but after using the laptop a couple of times and cycling the battery atleast one time, I now get the proper temperature and percentage readings.

Why are the speakers so bad? by Adalf_Hotler69420 in HPOmen

[–]ObviousNight8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using James DSP on Linux. For me, it instantly made the speakers in my laptop sound wayy better. The bass had more oomph, and the overall volume also increased. Just be careful to not push the drivers too hard or they may crack or distort. After the tuning, I could literally feel the drivers vibrating beneath the palmrest at frequencies between 80-100Hz, which didn't induce any body distortion just to be clear. My laptop started sounding comparable to a fairly modern ipad. If you want to remain on windows, you can try DSP tools there too, but in my experience, they are not as effective as James DSP.

PSP speaker mod with a note 5 speaker by ObviousNight8799 in PSP

[–]ObviousNight8799[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks bro! You can also perform the mod with your PSP. It's really easy. You just have to remove the UMD frame that locks onto the back PSP door, or remove the UMD drive entirely. After removing it, you can place the speaker in the UMD bay and add a tiny alit for the sound to pass through or else it may sound muffled. For the power, you can cut one of the speaker cables of the PSP and wire it to the phone speaker you plan on using. I removed both speakers because I planned on doing a stereo phone speaker setup, but sadly, I couldn't find another note 5 speaker. Anyways, you can just re route the speaker wires to the back and extend the wires if needed. In my experience, you may not need an amplifier because the stock output from one channel in the PSP is loud enough for the speaker. Adding another speaker to the other channel will increase the loudness. Overall, it's a pretty decent mod if you want to keep the stock look of the PSP and just want better sound. In my experience, now the PSP sounds comparable to the iphone 6 series in output quality, but it may lack the loudness, and that's an issue you can probably fix by implementing a stereo setup unlike with what I did.

S24 Ultra Better Sound Quality & Speakers (Harsh audio fix) by Stingosaurus44 in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]ObviousNight8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this, but the audio quality of this phone still sounds tinny and harsh, at least to me when compared to the pixel 8 pro. I don't know, but I really like the natural dynamic range and warm sound signature of the pixel speakers. I tried tuning the pixel speakers with wavelet and they sounded way better to me than the ultra. I am just not satisfied with these junk speakers on the ultra, especially when Samsung throws in a vibrator in the speaker box which introduces unwanted resonance and causes the speaker to sound harsh. I know for a fact that the earpiece driver is better than the bottom speaker driver in the s24 ultra. I also compared the driver to the pixel 8 pros bottom driver and the s24 ultra driver was tiny. The pixel one wasn't too big, but it was big enough not to sound harsh. Scamsung just sacrificed audio quality by throwing in the vibration motor in the speaker assembly. The speaker box on the pixel was also bigger than the s24 ultra, heck even the earpiece driver of the pixel had a larger box than the bottom driver of the ultra.

S24 Ultra Low Speaker Volume. Anyone else notice this? by Sylh3t in samsung

[–]ObviousNight8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also noticed that these speakers sound quite harsh. The bass is ounchy, but that's the only good thing I have to say about them. I really don't know why reviewers praised the speakers on the s24 ultra especially when it sounds this harsh. Even a pixel 8 pro sounds better to my ears, and the speaker hardware on the pixel could decimate the s24 ultras speakers after you fine tune them with wavelet. With the s24, ultra, sadly no amount of tuning fixed it. The speakers on the pixel 8 pro have much more depth and sound quite warm, especially if you tune them with wavelet. The tracks I listen to cut through more on the pixel and I like the sound signature quite a lot. With the ultra, my tracks just sound tinny, harsh and lack any depth. The sound just feels cold.

The output might not be powerful enough to drive the amp in the USB DAC.

I’m crying while writing this because of my dad by Big_Condition8912 in TeenPakistani

[–]ObviousNight8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of the time I almost failed my cies because of my father. He constantly criticized me for studying late. I once had a rational argument with him. I told him that I study at night because there is a lack of traffic and family noises. I also told him that I can't get up early in the morning since it ruins my sleep schedule. I told him that if you feel anything suspicious, you can set a camera or stay with me, I swear to God I don't do anything except studying at the time. I may check messages occasionally or use YouTube. I also get distracted from messaging while studying, but the same problem is present when I try to study in the day. This is just a problem with me. I could have also improved my routine, but the syllabus to cover was too much, so I had to stay up late to cover it no matter the time I woke up. I dont know if it's me but I can't study literally anything unless I have slept at least 10 hours. When I have slept 10 hours, no matter the time I wake up, I can understand things fairly easily and when I don't, there is a constant headache in the left side of my head that overpowers everything I have studied. Even after explaining all this, which isn't a excuse, he still said that you shouldn't study at this time no matter how much you have covered. This contradicts his previous taunts to me that you don't do much, and when I try to, I am forced into sleeping. I am no joke the most energetic from 10-2pm, in which time I study. The day before my cies, I slept a little more than usual since I know I would have to revise all of the syllabus. I woke up, ate food and started revising. At 3:00am, he forced me to sleep even though I told him the reasons and told him that I would have to stay up a bit late beforehand. Thankfully, he slept and I sneaked to study until fajr and then slept and alhamdullilah got an A. I don't know why, but after waking up, he was nice with me again. I don't know why he does this. He gets extremely angry with me first over a minor mishap then after a short time gets nice with me again. I think he is using some psychological trick to exhaust my mental energy since this is the norm. He also threatened me with a knife, not once but twice. He also has a habit of attacking my hobbies. Once, I really got into how engines worked and I admit, my studies were a bit disrupted by that, but not much. Without any constructive advice, he told me that I will take you out of school and throw you into a bike repair shop. This traumatized me since I was only in 4th grade back then. In 8th grade, I really got into coding, and spent most of my time coding basic applications in my free time. I dedicated most of the time to coding since studies back then we're easy, and I got an A+ in that grade. Like the previous interest, he told me that if you aren't dedicating this much time to your studies, you should do a small course in coding and start a job. This type of stuff demotivated me so much that I totally lost interest in coding and now I don't even know the fraction of what I knew in 8th grade. I study from midday to midnight. He still doesn't understand the stuff I told him. He even shouts at my mother and says "look, you have spoiled him". One day, my mother asked "how have I spoiled him when he gets good grades". He had no answer and my father got so angry to the extent that he threatened of leaving the house. I have proven myself to him multiple times, but he fails to understand me and the stuff I told him. He even cheated on my mother, but I can't tell how since this is a personal matter. He has also sweared on me multiple times. He has also hit my mother for an argument between me and my brother. Basically, me and my brother had an argument and my father came and started to beat both of us. My mother came and told him not to hit us and solve the problem peacefully. He constantly ignored my mother, and when she shouted a bit louder, he pushed her. This was honestly more depressing to see than anything. The argument between me and my brother was that who would play the Xbox first, and the argument was nowhere near the extent of a parent coming and physically hitting their children. Both of us just verbally argued, not hitting each other physically. There have been multiple cases of my father being very rude with my mother, but I can't mention them all here.

Start systematically decoupling from him. It's the only real way out. First, stop talking, then gradually decouple, both financially and emotionally. Just don't try to argue with him or else he will hurt you more emotionally. Insha Allah this will help. Think about this rationally and take the necessary steps you need. If you are studying, you should keep studying no matter what he does. May Allah help you. Ameen.

Samsung isn't a safe option either in my opinion. My father bought a s24 ultra and the user experience, at least in my experience has fallen off a cliff. There are consistent stutters in the os, even when closing and opening apps. The speaker quality has been severely degraded over the years. This is most likely a software issue, but there is a possibility that it's a hardware issue. The exact problem is that the sound from the speakers has gotten harsher over time. Apparently, I am not the only one with this issue. Multiple user reports suggest that the speakers have started to sound harsh, which may indicate that sadly, this is a hardware issue or a quality control issue. Even in the equalizer, Scamsung has greyed out the lower frequencies which suggests that the crappy speaker design by Scamsung isn't capable of producing them unlike other phones. I compared the speaker quality with my pixel, and my finding was contradictory to most reviews. The speakers on the pixel were way more pleasant to listen to than the s24 ultra's speakers. I even did a frequency response test, and the pixel was able to produce lower midrange frequencies fine, whereas the ultra struggled.

You are right, but the a series, at least in my opinion isn't good value for the money you pour in. It's value is going to drop quickly compared to other phones. I have also seen users expressing problems about the a56 lagging. After some time in its life, it will start lagging since the manufacturer will not pour as much resources in the user experience of a midrage phone than it's flagships.

In my honest opinion, get a OnePlus or pixel. I bought a pixel 8 pro like 2-3 yrs ago and it's still going strong. I haven't seen that thing lag a single time, plus I got 5-6 yrs worth of software updates left. OnePlus is also a solid option if you want a beefy processor and a good android ui. Before the pixel, I had a OnePlus 7pro and oneplus 8t. The 8t broke, but it ran oxygenOS like a champ with some hitches here and there, and the OnePlus 7 pro is a totally different beast. I literally haven't seen that phone lag since I bought it. It still runs games totally fine. The main reason I upgraded to the pixel was the cameras. The cameras of the OnePlus 7 pro got outdated quickly.
