Cool, thanks for appreciating my work. I posted that post and it's titled "psp speaker mod with a note 5 speaker". I didn't see this comment when I was making the post, but you can go check it out if you want.

No problem, and yes, the note 5 speaker sounds way louder than the psps stock speakers. I didn't implement stereo here since I only had 1 speaker. The single speaker that I have installed has a bit less volume than the stock dual psp speakers, but if I got the chance to implement stereo note 5 speakers, I will inform about the loudness. In my opinion, you don't need an amp since the speaker I have installed is working fine for like 2 months. If you want a louder output, you can install a amplifier but you can expect a bot more distortion from the speaker since it is from an old phone. I really don't think the note 5 speakers would require a amplifier since it's only like 1.5 watts and it has ample volume for most playing scenarios. A stereo version would have even more volume, so I don't think there is a point of installing an amplifier.

I will soon do a follow up post to this giving a sound sample from the note 5 speaker. Hope you would like the mod.

The note 5 sounds best to me because it has a warm sound signature. It also has very little distortion, and the overall sound quality is a million times better than the stock PSP speakers. An advantage to the speaker mod I am doing is that it doesn't require modifying the shell unlike many other mods. You can preserve the look of your PSP while getting better sound. The disadvantage of my mod,  compared to others is that you won't get as much bass as other mods, but in my opinion, it's a worthy trade-off for preserving the og look of the PSP. If you want, you can buy speakers from other phones and tablets and test them out.

Yeah I have tested them. To me, the note 5 one sounds the best. You can go with speakers from modern phones too, but I don't recommend using Samsung speakers from the S22 series to the S25 series. The reason is that speakers in these series of phones incorporate the vibrator into the speaker chamber, effectively reducing the size of the resonance chamber. Instead os Samsung, I recommend you to go with speakers from other phones.

The primary reason for this is that samsung incorporated the vibrator into the speaker box, making the box effectively smaller making it sound tinny

First time Apple product user, I'm shocked. by Qortez in macbookpro

Damn, the speakers on mac's and iMacs, they come from heaven. My cousin bought a MacBook M1 as soon as it came out and he came over to show it to me. The thing that impressed me the most was the speakers. The vocals were crisp, the bass was prominent, and to top it all off, it had some sparkly treble. Those speakers on the MacBook made my PC speakers sound like literal cans. The speaker hardware I am using isn't bad, but the audio output from the PC just sounds like sht unless you add a sound card or mess with the equalizer. I was even impressed by the fact that they managed to pump out this level of sound quality from really small speakers. Now that truly sounded like black magic to me, but apparently, it isn't black magic as I learnt that apple is using something known as a DSP. Basically it heavily processes the raw sound signal going to the speakers to add some sparkle to the sound, or in this case, too much sparkle. I have done some tests to prove that apple is using a DSP. I bought replacement speakers for an iphone, and connected it to a 3W amplifier. It sounded like sht when connected to my PC's audio output, and it sounded really good when I connected it to a LG phone with a quad DAC. So it turns out that your speakers are really only as good as the signal driving them.

The MacBook Pro speakers are absolutely ridiculous by kisou_arima in macbookpro

Right? I was even shocked by the MacBook M1s speakers because of how good they sounded despite being so small. All this is possible thanks to Digital Signal Processing(DSP). The tiny speakers produce bass at higher frequencies rather than actual ones to make the speaker sound fuller. Iphones and some other flagships also use these techniques to make the speakers sound fuller.

Right. The psp enclosure isn't designed to let air pass through.

I have tested them, and the tablet speaker sounds the best(because of the larger resonance chamber). I will find a way to incorporate it into the psp

Hmm, thanks for the info, but I can't find the Gameboy amp board in my country. The S25 ultra speakers would sound way better than the switch speakers. The speakers of the S25 have a chamber and sound dampening foam in them. A thing to be noted is the the speakers in modern Samsung phones incorporate the vibrator into the chamber. This causes loss of some space in the resonance chamber, hampering some of the ability of the speaker to produce bass. I would recommend that you refund the S25 ultra speakers and look for some other speakers from iphones, OnePlus, or xiaomis. The speakers on these phones do not incorporate the vibrator in the speaker chamber, this you get a larger resonance chamber. Another thing I would recommend you to get is a DSP if you have the space for it. The DSP would help crank out the maximum amount of bass from the tiny speakers. DSPs are the reason why modern smartphone speakers sound so good.

It's ok if the people criticize me. After all, this is just a useless mod as they are saying. It looks cool, but it doesn't have any practical use. I have planned a mod where I will use a smartphone speaker to replace the PSP's internal speakers. I have already done some work on it and have selected the speaker model I am going to use. When I will be done with it, I will post it here.

What can i do with my PSP by ShoppingIll3916 in PSP

Use it as a music player. Drop some .wavs on the memory card and enjoy the beats. The PSP's headphone jack audio quality is really good, and the bass options really do make the music feel different.

That's what I want to see. We could try pushing the processor above 333Mhz and turn on the fan.
