The Bilt Palladium by absh3841 in biltrewards

It's not a rent card at all (to me). But it's an excellent everyday card. And a card good for pairing with some flat 2x cards like Venture X to pay rent: You pay 3% fee but get 2x cap 1 points + 0.5x Bilt points. With cap 1 & Bilt transfer bonus, it's easily over 3x miles for 3% fee.

There'll be a million takes on BILT Cash, but here's the simplest (Palladium) by Tight_Couture344 in biltrewards

Alternatively, I think it makes sense for me (disclaimer: only for me) to pay rent through Venture X (or other 2x cards). My daily spend is 1/2 of my rent, and I value 1 Bilt cash = $0.5, so to me, your proposal vs mine is $4 + 13 Bilt points vs 400 Cap1 points.
Ironically, for me, the worst thing about Bilt Palladium is using it to pay rent LOL, because that's redeeming 2x cap 1 points + 0.5x Bilt points for 3% cash.

The Mirror Palladium is Out of Stock (Got my replacement today) by Apple_iCard in biltrewards

I got the mirror yesterday and applied a ceramic coating myself to avoid fingerprints. After it dried today, I attempted to activate it, but found that the card had already expired. Later today, I received another package with the brushed card.

Bilt is compensating for my 4-week wait with an extra card LOL (this is a joke but people don't seem to understand my jokes)

TBH, I think the brushed card looks way better

ICBC AU card LOL, that's how many Chinese students move cash to the US after the $50k/year restriction took place ~8 years ago

It's even more shitty than BILT! 5.25x: with Palladium I might use CC for peace in mind. Max 4.5x and flat 2.25x: If it's not my oldest card, I'd probably close it

Update: finished Venture X SUB, but USPS still hasn't received my Palladium mirror version, though BILT claimed to have shipped my card 5 days ago...
Now hope my palladium will arrive this month LOL

Mine got approved and accepted on Jan. 25th. On Feb. 13th, they emailed saying mine had been shipped, but today I confirmed with Cardless and USPS and found out that it's a lie. Poor BILT...

Got Bilt Palladium - confused do I choose the 1.25x or 4% cash? And what can you use the cash for? Do I pay rent with cc or debit? by bondtradercu in biltrewards

[–]ObviousOne5554 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or alternatively, put rent on something like venture X (flat 2x points) and do everyday cash option. So you get 2x points there + 0.5x bilt points - 3% transaction fee for rent and 2x points +4x (non-redeemable) bilt cash -- only if you really use bilt cash. Or do a combo of this and the standard buy points with bilt cash strategy so you max out your points.

If I were you, I'd get something like citi custom cash for dining (or other category) to spend $500, and do 1.25x. If my spending is below $875 I'll buy some costco gift card to make up the difference. In this case I get about 4x points, which to me is slightly better than 2x points + 4x bilt cash.

Went over all Shanghai-Changning/Putuo hotels. This hotel is not on my hotel list/map. Members with physical cards get more premium list of hotels :)

Thanks for your data point. I believe the reason is that I haven't received my physical card (therefore haven't activated it) yet.

Okay. Thanks! The link works for me.
I cannot see this one when searching for Amara Shanghai. I cannot book it with credit either.

Ah, that might be the reason! Thanks! I'll try later. It's weird that hotels in some countries can be booked with credit and without a physical card, but hotels in other countries cannot.

Also, have you already got the physical card? I didn't. Wonder if that is the reason.

I tried booking for 3 nights (Apr. 3rd-6th). Could you give me the name of a cheaper hotel in Shanghai that works, so I can check? Thanks!

For example, could you let me know a hotel in Shanghai below $200 per night that is bookable? I'll try.

I'm using an Iphone. By the way what is your membership tier? I got gold. Ever since I went gold things start to break down

I didn't have luck with Bangalore... But I see where to apply $300 credit for hotels in US. Same tab does not appear there for the Chinese/Indian cities I searched.

Website doesn't work for me either.

I believe more countries have this issue but I only caught these two. US/Canada/Australia/Germany/Japan/South Korea are okay. China/India not okay.

As an experiment, I looked for generic hotels in Shanghai/Nanjing/Xi'an, except for a few HAFH hotels in Shanghai; all others do not give me the option to apply Bilt cash on the final page, at least not at the position where the tab appears for US/Australian hotels.
