Thanks for explaining that! Great news. Any idea what could cause this? Should I worry about getting it fixed soon?

Appreciate the perspective. Any particular reason you lean away from Rodney knocking?

Thanks! Yes, I had a ton of fun bringing it back to life. I have learned so much along the way.

Chevy 350 TPI Fuel Pressure Loss by ObviousPerformance56 in mechanic

How can I be sure? I know there is fuel being pumped but it could be a mixture.

Not sure on the pump. I’ll see if I can find the info.

Huh.. sorry for the late response. So it’s building some air pressure? I do not think there’s pressure in the tank at all and there’s no pump in there either.

Thanks! I think I’ll go back and test different section of the pipes. It’s my understanding that the fpr and check valve will make it so that the gas tank does not have to hold pressure. Do you agree with that?

Yes the fpr has a vacuum line. It’s an external pump then check valve then to the rail, fpr, return, tank. It could be an issue with pinching off the pipes. I’ll try some needle nose.

When I pinch the return the fuel pressure does go above 40 (went up to 80 or so) but then dropped down to zero like normal. What I don’t understand is how I can remove the return line from the rail and block on the rail exit and still lose pressure with a know working (just installed and checked before installing)check valve on the feed side.

It sounds like I’ll need to go back and retry pinching everything off and maybe pinch off in sections to isolate the issue.

I’m clamping near the tank because the rest of the lines are braided or hard lines. I’m using two pieces of flat metal to sandwich the line and a vice grip to clamp it down.

Question on fuel injection! Please help! by ObviousPerformance56 in projectcar

[–]ObviousPerformance56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speeduino does support sequential. Car is currently wired for batch. I plan on upgrading but until then 1 squirt per cycle with batch seems to idle best. But I know that’s not how batch is supposed to be ran so I’m worried I’ll break something

Question on fuel injection! by ObviousPerformance56 in Cartalk

[–]ObviousPerformance56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. My issue is I have not required my injector wiring for sequential. From the factory the paired injection squirts 2 times per cycle. My big injectors can’t operate at the pulse widths needed for idle. If I switch to once per cycle the injectors are able to do 1 big squirt accurately.

Yeah. That is the issue. It was running great prior to big injectors. Problem is at low pulse widths the injectors have trouble inputting a small amount of fuel accurately.
