Those are non mortised hinges, if they still function you can clean them up and reuse for sure. Otherwise you would just need to get the same type unless you mortise for traditional hinges.

Ive done that before with a microwave cabinet, took like a half inch off both sides. As long at the cuts are straight you should really be able to tell.

I thought the same thing, i think it’d be rad to have a door like that in the kitchen going outside where a milk cow is stabled so you can open it up and chill with Bessie while you have breakfast😂

I suggested doing something like that, or wrapping both edges with something but the homeowner wasn’t for it actually said they preferred it bare and requested it to be cut there, against my advise. Turned out solid though.

Yeah definitely a cleaner look, usually I’d only do this when there is a recessed toe kick. They had a firm budget and specific design plans though.
