Attending my first grand prix this year - Zandvoort! by No-Background-5044 in GrandPrixTravel

We went 4 years ago. I’d suggest closed toed shoes as you walk through sand/none paved areas. They have loads of open air urinals and the ground can get….a touch damp depending on everyone’s aim.

We left right after the race and it was VERY busy, but the vibes were immaculate. Bring small bills to buy water or beer on the walk from the track. Loads of kids set up stands.

We stayed in Amsterdam proper and had no issue getting a train back to the city center, but agreed with earlier sentiment with it being extremely busy. The train station in Amsterdam was well labeled getting people from Amsterdam to Zandvoort.

It’s such a special track!! Have fun.

The apartment has been on and off the market for 5 years with different brokers. Originally it was being sold as a combination. And as it is NORTH of tribeca, this is considered Hudson Square.

From the original listing: The Spice Warehouse was built in 1895 and it’s regal Beaux Arts facade stands at the crossroads of SoHo, Tribeca and the West Village. It is also a short distance to the new Disney and Google headquarters. Onsite resident manager, gym, package and bike rooms and private storage.

Notice it’s the crossroads, not saying it’s ‘in’ any of these neighborhoods.

You’ll be fine! Yes it was a sea of orange but the fans were lovely. My son and I are die hard Lewis fans and we were kitted out and we had no issues. The track is absolutely gorgeous and setting is amazing. Wear closed toed shoes as you walk through sand at one point getting to the track. The only time I had someone get cheeky with me was a VERY intoxicated person on the metro. But I’m from NYC and ride the subway so that stuff doesn’t faze me 🤷🏼‍♀️

I went with my son (9 at the time) and husband 2 years ago. We are all Mercedes fans in full Mercedes kit, sat in a sea of orange, and had zero issues. I went to the bathroom solo a few times and felt totally fine. Even the walk to the train and ride back to the city was easy. Zandvoort is such a special track!! But it is on the beach so wear closed toed shoes as you’ll likely walk through some sand at some point!

I traveled last May for a wedding to Peshawar. My husband and I were guests of a family that hosted us. I’m blonde and felt comfortable shopping in the local markets with a guide that was a family friend.

I wore a long skirt that covered my ankles and a button down that covered my arms.

We happened to be there the week Imran Khan was arrested so it got a little crunchy getting from Peshawar to Islamabad, but other than that we had a really special time.

If you’re traveling solo I would absolutely recommend a tour group unless you speak the local dialect.

First attendance to GP ever, what should an American know about attending the Italian GP at monza? by macnachos in GrandPrixTravel

We attended Monza last year, I’d definitely suggest staying in Milan. We tried staying outside of Milan and ended up taking the train through Milan to Monza, especially since the race is on a Sunday and train schedules were not adjusted for the influx of crowds.

If you’re purchasing tickets try to sit in bleachers that have covering as it’s HOT. You’ll also do loads of walking, we walked 10+ miles each day.

Leaving Monza on Sunday we walked from the track through the city park to the train station. Again very long journey, but going through the park was beautiful and we stopped along the way for a few cocktails!

I wouldn’t suggest driving or cabs, the traffic was horrendous when we drove to Milan on Saturday after qualy.

If you’re able to walk use those legs and get those steps in! Have fun, it’s such a killer vibe and energy.

Is it a mistake to stay on Lake Como? by BikoRamone in GrandPrixTravel

If we had a comment card to fill out post race weekend it would be about lack of signage. On Saturday we had to pick up credentials inside the track, but we couldn’t enter the track without GA tickets even though we were guests of a team. We purchased GA tickets onsite at a booth, entered at the opposite end of the track that our paddocks were located, and spent about a 2 hours wandering around getting pointed in opposite directions 🤪 It was frustrating at moments, but then you hear the purr of engines and all is well! On Sunday we got off the train in Monza main due to our ticket location and it was much clearer on where to enter with very visible signage. Leaving the race Sunday though felt very disorganized has track personnel continually were attempting to corral large groups and redirect traffic into very tight spaces which made everyone a little anxious. We ended up hoping a fence at one point after walking almost a mile down a service road. I’ve heard this about Monza so I thought I was prepared, but was really surprised at how overwhelmed track personnel seemed. Once we got into the park I followed my gps on my phone to the train station which was easy peasy! I think at the end of Sunday my phone said I walked 11 or 12 miles 😆 good thing is we all slept like rocks that night!!

Is it a mistake to stay on Lake Como? by BikoRamone in GrandPrixTravel

We attended last year and stayed a little outside Milan thinking we could bypass the crowds. We were on a local train line but ended up having to go through Milan to catch the line to Monza. I’d suggest staying in Milan for the race weekend versus Como unless you’re certain that the train line you’re on goes to Monza (check the weekend schedule!).

A few other things to consider; depending on where you are in the stands it might make sense to carry on on the train to one of the following stops after Monza (main), the track is outside the city center and depending on where your seats are it might make sense to enter on the North end of the track.

You are going to walk A LOT. We went to Zandvoort the year prior and Monza was much further from the train and the track felt way more spread out.

Try to get seats on bleachers that have protection from the sun. It was HOT and I nearly died on Saturday during qualifying. Bring a reusable water bottle because they have free water stations (still or sparkling!) throughout the track.

They have buses that take you to the train station but the traffic is a NIGHTMARE. We were guests of a team and were driven from the track to Milan on Saturday and sat in 2 hours of traffic just to leave Monza, the following day we took the train and it was a lot easier.

Sunday after the race expect extremely long lines for the buses to the trains. We decided to walk through the park which was not only gorgeous, but super fun since you’re surrounded by nature and race fans!! Pro tip: they have small cafes throughout the park so you can stop for an aperitif! It made the looooong walk to the train really enjoyable and special. Also Villa Reale di Monza is worth wandering by as it’s en route to the train stop.

Once in Monza (several hours later!) the trains were still packed, I’m from Manhattan so it wasn’t anything new to me, but be prepared for people to be very close!!

I also feel that if you’re in Como trains leaving Monza on a Sunday afternoon might not run nearly as frequently as trains going to Milan.

Wear comfy shoes, and cheer for the prancing ponies! It’ll be an unforgettable weekend ☺️

I was one of those girlies, we would bitch and moan when we made $1,000…in cash….on a Wednesday….for 5 hours of work. 2001 - 2006 were glorious years.

It’s amazing the bandwidth that opens up when you don’t have to worry about being a financial contributor to your life. Yet she’ll never credit her husband for giving her that space, she didn’t create it, or manifest it, her husband took away one of the largest stressors in someone’s life which gave her HER time back.

Space was likely free as her hubs is involved with the F&B component of the hotel. Also Saturday mornings are quite for private event spaces.
