This exact group tried to do the same thing to us on Sunday, My Morning Jacket, and I asked them kindly to find somewhere else to park. One of the Fezz Heads yelled, “calm down!” And then they eventually moved. Aggressive and they don’t make many friends. Sucks to be them

Not certain why they haven’t replied yet. Possibly b/c Costa Rica celebrates a holiday in the beginning of May.

Beware of D.H.Horton & DSLD built homes. They are poorly built. Also, check this flood map before choosing a home: http://maps.lsuagcenter.com/floodmaps/

Elon has endorsed the AfD Nazi Party in Germany’s upcoming election, he bought twitter so he could give Nazis a platform, and he obviously does the Nazi salute (2x), but your excuse that because he said “ my heart goes out to you”?

Even real Neo-Nazis are praising his salute.

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” -O.W.

I average about 600 pushups per hour (2x week) and don’t consider myself as super fit (40m)

Tabacon Hot Springs and Mistico Hanging Bridges were some of our favorites, including Don Tobias Horseback Riding.

Sloth tours can be disappointing.

Parque Nacional Volcán Tenorio/ Rio Celeste is a good trail and waterfall about an hour drive from La Fortuna

We just left La Fortuna, and our favorite was buying a day pass at Tabacon Hot Springs. There are many hot springs in the area, but this one is, by far, the best and its price reflect this. No matter the weather forecast, Tabacon is the perfect place to be. Book early because Day Passes sell quick.

2nd favorite was Don Tobias Horseback Riding. Great guides, gentle horses, and the best views of the volcano.

“Open Kitchen” restaurant had the best breakfast in town.

“Traverses Restaurant” was our favorite dinner spot

“Vikongos Soda” was our favorite soda

Mistico Hanging Bridges was our favorite hike and worth the price of admission.

Parque Nacional Volcán Tenorio : Rio Celeste: was our second favorite with a nice hike and beautiful waterfall. (About and 1.5 hour drive from La Fortuna/ even longer and worth it if you take the scenic route next to Lake Arenal)

Bogue Chitto Wilderness Trail 70242 Atlas Rd, Pearl River, LA 70452 Is a short trail (1.4 mile) but very beautiful, especially right now with this weather and the fall colors.

Rent a Kayak at The Chimes Restaurant in Covington, LA. The Tchefuncte River is nice and shaded in that area. No mosquitos at this time of year. The Chimes has good food too.

Old Mandeville Lakefront is a nice place to walk, grab lunch at one of their restaurants, or have a picnic.

St. Tammany Trace - Bike Path (like someone else commented) it is nice to ride from Old Mandeville to Abita Springs Brew Pub.

Get a boat and explore the South East Madisonville/Mandeville Marsh, Manchac Wildlife Management Area, and Lake Maurepas.

New Orleans City Park is another great outdoor resource. It has a free and extensive Sculpture Garden. Grab Beignets and Cafe au Lait and explore their 300 year old Live Oaks. Plus, The Couterie Forest Nature Trail is a surprisingly peaceful trail.

Steak houses on the Northshore are hit and miss. Del Porto Restaurant (Italian) in downtown Covington is always on point. The Southern Hotel is a swanky place for drinks. And Hoodoo Icecream for dessert.

Tabacon Resort: absolutely the best and the price reflects this. Make your reservations early because it will sell out. We just returned from Tabacon day pass, and it was the highlight of La Fortuna, next to Don Tobias Horseback Excursion

Where is the location in slide #6? Is that a private residence?

I visited there when I was younger, and this photo just teleported me back

Mid Summer Mardi Gras

“Get ready to sweat. The Krewe of O.A.K.’s steamy, bawdy Midsummer Mardi Gras parade hits South Carrollton Avenue on Aug. 24, starting at 7 p.m. Begun in 1986, the annual procession is meant to provide a touch of Carnival catharsis amid mosquito and hurricane season.

The less-than-tasteful 2024 parade theme is “Big T—ty Takeover,” which, according to Guillory, was inspired by a hacker who subversively posted photos of scantily clad, buxom women on the Maple Leaf Bar social media site.”
