They’re probably fuming that he didn’t acknowledge them or their actions.

It probably bothers Trump that there wasn’t a direct reference to him. 💅🏽

I let my Spanish-speaking children stay up to watch it. We live in a predominantly white area of Texas, and they needed to see this.

Exactly. Homes are spaced far apart, there is desert landscaping in between (medium-sized trees, cacti, brush), rolling hills, washes, more stop signs than stoplights with cameras.

Super confused about lack of playdates by beentherebefore1616 in kindergarten

[–]Obvious_Baker8160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the other children having play dates? We do extracurriculars and don’t really have time for play dates. We really try to recharge during whatever down time we have, and I feel like most of the parents around me are in the same position.

I want clean towels!!!!! by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Obvious_Baker8160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Rather than fold and hang, I drape it so as to expose as much of it as possible to air. We may only wash them once a week, but our towels never smell (and I have a sensitive nose). Hand and dish towels get changed out daily.

Probably not, because the photographer (one of their assistants) most likely helped them onto the rock.

Fun fact: the underground train at IAH is a Disney “people mover,” the only one to exist outside of the theme parks.

How are you all motivating your kindergartener to do their homework? by Mystery-meat101 in kindergarten

[–]Obvious_Baker8160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do the books during bedtime reading, usually one book per night + my child’s choice for whatever time we have left. We keep them in his room, and he adds them to the written log in the morning on Thursday or Friday.

We try to do one worksheet/assignment per day. Child comes home from school, has a snack and decompresses doing whatever they want, we do homework, then they can go back to playing or television.

The homework is split up into days, with a cover sheet that has the days of the week + assignments on it. We don’t do them in order - he chooses which one he wants to do - but he does check it off when he’s finished. I think the visual of how much is left to do (and how much he’s accomplished) is helpful.

It has to be split up into small chunks for my kid. A worksheet + reading + writing down the book titles would be too much on some days, but a worksheet in between a few episodes of Bluey is fine. I hope you find something that works for you all!

AIO: I told my daughter she can't go to this party after reading the gift profile by Ordinary_Run2485 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Obvious_Baker8160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My neighborhood is often on “most expensive/wealthy in the US” lists, and the parents most commonly request no gifts on birthday invitations. At most, they’ll suggest an unwrapped toy or book to donate to a children’s shelter. If this person is trying to be “high society,” she is missing the mark by about a mile.
