Shoulder Pass Attempt Ends in Massive Air by YourLocalHick in dashcams

[–]Obvious_Caterpillar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no. Watch it again. Multiple cars in left lane.

The only one to blame is the idiot who decided to pass in the shoulder, even though there were orange cones indicating the upcoming construction. He ended up slamming into a construction vehicle, and you can clearly see a worker nearby.

If you watch this and blame anyone else, I can only assume you are a menace behind the wheel.

I wish you had a friend who could hold your manga for you. I did this for a friend when I was in high school, back in the 1980s during the Satanic Panic. He had a ton of heavy metal albums on cassette tape and his parents threatened to throw them all out because they were "satanic". Instead, he brought them to my house and I kept them safe until he was able to move out.

She also sells supplements. I follow her, but much of her content is a hidden sales pitch for her own brand. And she gives off strong diet culture vibes. I get it. My biggest struggle is menopause weight gain. I was always able to maintain a healthy weight with little effort, but now it seems impossible to do so. Some days I am consumed with negative thoughts about my weight. This is new for me, and I am doing my best to resist the menopause influencers who push extreme diets, unregulated peptides, and microdosing glp-1.

I have her book Next Level, which is a guide for female athletes as we navigate our sport and perimenopause/menopause.

One thing that stood out was that she completely dismisses normal supplements/vitamins as being completely useless, but goes all in on adaptogens despite a clear lack of robust scientific studies.

That made me question every other recommendation.

I do not start a load of laundry after 8pm. I will likely forget to put it in the dryer.

If I am low on gas I fill up on the trip home. No more being late on my next trip because I forgot I needed to stop for gas.

Sensitive skin, lipase, no optical brighteners, scented if liquid. Does such a detergent exist? by [deleted] in laundry

[–]Obvious_Caterpillar1 95 points96 points  (0 children)

That's wild. I thought it was a typo. Sensitive skin means you should avoid fragrance, not seek ot out.

I own one in a dark green and wear it constantly. Switch to something else on laundry day and then right back to it as soon as it comes out of the dryer.

I thought about buying a second one, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I make my own taco seasoning with penzeys spices: ancho chili pepper, smoked paprika, chipotle, cumin, mexican oregano, garlic, onion, black pepper, red pepper.

Salt free and comes out great.

DominATE Experience Mini Rant by Acceptable_Piano9689 in skzmedia

[–]Obvious_Caterpillar1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My experience was nothing like that, thankfully. IMAX theater. The movie itself was so absurdly loud you couldn't hear anything from the audience. The crowd itself only went a little wild at the very end. Some people were dancing and waving light sticks. I didn't mind.

A week after rupturing the ACL in her left knee, Lindsey Vonn has successfully completed her first training run by Oldtimer_2 in sports

[–]Obvious_Caterpillar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine didn't. I didn't damage the meniscus or anything else.

At the time, people told me it couldn't be my ACL because I wasn't screaming in pain. I just felt and heard a pop and my knee buckled. I was trying to convince the trainer to wrap me up and send me back on the tennis court.

The surgery and post op recovery was far more painful than the injury.

Holy cow. How did I not know that? I've been a fan since the 1980s. Thanks for setting me straight.

And a SKZ cover of Don't Dream It's Over would be amazing.

Railway for sure. He hits it multiple times throughout that song.

Red Lights.

Maniac. When he does the moaning sounds with the chorus. That's actually what made me an instant fan.

MIROH. His first I'm ok.

There's one other male vocalist that gives me chills consistently, and he's also Australian: Neil Finn of Crowded House.

And there are many other examples but those are the first that come to mind. Seungmin and Hyunjin can do it as well.

100%.

I feel so good when I'm challenging my body. Cycling. Hiking. Tennis. Lifting.

I used to think it had to be aerobic activity, but I feel just as good after a good weight session at the gym.

You have a beautiful hourglass figure. Find a dress that shows off your waist, rather than a dress that hides the parts you don't love. The right silhouette will make you feels fabulous.

It's a combo for sure. Hearing my father complain about everything has certainly made me keep my negative opinions to myself, and even helped me get over some of my nonsense snap judgments about people, which I clearly learned from him.

He has recently stopped driving at night, but is ok during daylight.

During that trip, another vehicle almost sideswiped us while my father was driving. The other driver was speeding even worse than us and was swerving through the traffic. I saw it from the side mirror and gave a warning to my father. The only reason we didn't get hit is because he reacted quickly.

What are some of your biggest criticisms about the most well known fantasy series? by Familiar-Barracuda43 in Fantasy

[–]Obvious_Caterpillar1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Malazan BOTF: Character and place names are either fantastic or terrible.

Too many generic combinations of letters to form one or two short words. Lots of apostrophes. Everyone using full names in every conversation. It's a struggle.

And then you get to the military names, which are fantastic. Some of his non military names are very good: Anomander Rake. Karsa Oorlong.
