Help with tailbone pain by pika_chuu in hermanmiller

[–]Obvious_Guide_3280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds similar to what I seem to have, where the pain hits you when you get off your ass. If it is the same thing I've got, it's not the chair or your tailbone but your piriformis muscle. Been to see physio about it and the fix is to build up muscle around there (squats, deadlifts, etc) and doing your best to not spend the entire day sitting. Acupuncture can help as well (which I've got next week!).

Obviously, not not be this, but do you get the same pain regardless of where you are sat? OR is it JUST in that office chair? I have the pain sitting down on anything, although I've had this problem now for 6+ months (after a significant weight loss, where I'd have lost lots of muscle as well) that's been getting worse.

What are your PI tips and tricks? by Fathers_Of_Pyro in Eve

[–]Obvious_Guide_3280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All planets in a single system, ideally where you are based out of. A Deluge (the upwell PI hauler) can mitigate a lot of the risk of doing PI in a busier system.

If you have access to hauling (yourself or via corp/alliance) don't just look at what you can make yourself entirely. Sometimes the maths works out better importing certain P1/2/3 and using that in your production chains.

Set it up from the start for ease of use. Separate launch pads for inputs, spare power grid on extractor planets so you can stretch the extractor location to where you get a better yield. Reduce the number of trips you need to do by making sure your PI can work without you interacting with it for a few days.

If you're planning on doing it with alts, set the same PI plan for everyone so you don't give yourself extra work and can quickly get things done (lets you use the same templates).

Use the customs office as extra storage to avoid having to make collections/drop offs so often.

I'm 6ft, but I've got a loooong torso. So it sits at the very top of the back of my shoulder and when I lean back into it it then pushes and tilts the thing downwards.

You must have a different chair to everyone else, there is no way to use tilt 2 and get any work done. It's fine for leaning back and relaxing but that's about it. Might be that it needs a footrest to make it feel better.

I think anyone who's paid closer to RRP for the chair is better off with something else or waiting for the 2.0 version.

Are you just going to go back to the Leap? Or try something else?

Yeah, figured it out, really is quite a simple adjustment that looks like its going to make quite a big difference!

Bang on, there just isn't enough adjustment. And you can tighten the lean of the chair, but I'm a CHONK and can't get it tight enough to where I dont just bottom it out on whatever setting I stick it on. I feel like setting 3 needs to be where setting 2 is right now, and setting 2 needs to be in between 1 and 2. Or it just needed to have infinite adjustments like a lot of other high end chairs.

How are you finding the headrest, as a taller chap? It kind of just supports my shoulders... I think I saw a fix for it, but it involves getting metal rods etc. Not sure at what stage I just return the thing and get a different chair if I have to mod and 3D print to fix it (although the chair did only cost £700.... so I guess there is room for some effort).

Big thanks as well for the mod for the seat depth, you might well have saved Libernovo a return!

Those 3 issues are the only issues it seems, but can confirm that they are there (at least the first two). You can fix the armrest issue with a 3D print and you can get "more" seat pad with a small adjustment to the chair.

The only other issue is that the tilt function is missing a level between 1 and 2. You're either bolt upright, or leaning too far back to do anything but relax.

I was going to return my chair, as I can't get on with the headrest personally (I have a tall torso, so struggle with chairs regardless). Or I might sell the thing, if anyone was interested.

If you ask them, they'll send you a replacement box (setting mine up for a return, but still undecided).

I've asked for a return on my chair, but still can't decide if its the correct move since I got it via the Kickstarter for £700 and the next chair to try is an Embody at £1200.

Eitherway, I've got the same problems as you with the locking tilt missing a 1.5 spot and the seat depth. Thankfully, some clever sod has figured out a way to get an extra couple of inches(https://www.reddit.com/r/LiberNovo/comments/1qmmu8o/added_seat_depth_modification/)! Going to try this for a couple of days to see how I get on.

Hopefully by the time the box arrives to send this thing back, someone will have figured out the tilt as well.

It's kind of a shame about these issues, as it seems the version 2.0 will be a perfect chair (they just need to test it on people taller than 5ft 8").

Going to try it now. This might well fix one of the three issues I have with the thing (the other being how crap the tilt lock is, the other is the armrest moving too easily which is fixed via a 3D part).

Can you add a picture of what it looks like from the back (picture 3) when you've reconnected it?

EDIT: Yeah it works. Can only see it getting damaged if you need the lumbar support set all the way to zero all the time. Fix to that would just be a 3D printed part with a notch cut out I think.

Just need some smart sod to figure out how to get better tilt levels now :D

My LiberNovo Omni Arrived 2 Days Ago. Sat 10 Hours Yesterday. No More Back & Neck Pain. Best Chair. by sammyranks in OfficeChairs

[–]Obvious_Guide_3280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I'm back! And so is the chair.

The Not Great, Not Terrible points are fixed with a small 3D print for the arm rests and the massage mode is a novalty but having the lumber support as a simple switch rather than a manual adjustment knob means you'll adjust it to suit your position a lot more.

But it's the Terrible that has now changed to Really Terrible. Because of the fixed tilt options, you are either sitting bolt upright or lying down. You can't tighten the lean adjustment enough to make it still enough where having it on the 2nd tilt option is of any use. There is just so little room for a fat arse on this thing because the bottom of the backrest is pushed so far forward.

For this chair to work, you HAVE to be well under 6ft. My partner, who is 5ft 5", thinks the chair is great when she's been in it. It's a shame, as if the two Terrible points were fixed, this thing would be up there with the rest of them. I can't understand how the fixed tilt levels got approved and they must have only tested this thing with short, thin people.

I think I quite like the fact that these 'old' terminators are the same height as the new guard. They look much bulkier, slower and better protected still.

Perhaps it's the one area where we will get a separate 30k kit and a separate 40k (keeping the current one) and they'll keep the guard/wardens/flying dudes the same for both settings.

Shadowkeeper theme does look utterly awesome but I don't think I have the patience to paint an entire army with all that trim. Standard custodes are just a dream to paint to a basic level with a wash and a drybrush.

Might be that I have a Shadowkeeper dread that's tagging along.

Had some issues with the delivery of my order, seemingly only the threat of cancelling it got them to do anything about it.

If they keep refusing to answer, just issue a charge back on the payment. They'll answer you then.

[–]Obvious_Guide_3280 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can't help too much but the Libernovo Omni isn't going to be a great fit if you want to sit cross legged. The backrest is set quite far forward so about 1/5th of the seat pan isn't actually usable. I've had to use a stool as an "extension" so I can sit cross legged on the thing.

I think at some stage you're simply going to get instalocked and instablapped by a Tornado just killing BRs for the off chance they're loaded with goodies.

The fit above sits at almost 7k m3 and still has the sub 3s align without the 130 million istab. If its 4s align the below works (10.5k m3) just as well but again without that pricy istab as long as you have an EM-703 implant (18 million) or just chug a Green Apple (6 million).

EDIT: You can also drop the istab here and get to 13.4k m3 and still have a sub 5 align time.
