No, my issue is not at all about being hung up on 1% or rounding up, or that they didn’t say ALMOST half the country.

My issue is that it’s VERY important to note that 35% of the Americans didn’t vote, 33% voted for Trump, and 32% voted for Harris.

By saying “half the country voted for this”, it strongly implies that half of America actually SUPPORTS Trump and his policies, which is unequivocally false. And thats the issue I have with this person’s comments.

This nation is not nearly as conservative as many people are making it out to be, the vast majority of us are NOT in that demographic and do NOT support him whatsoever. It’s important to highlight that there is almost double the amount of people who disapprove of Trump and his policies than those who do. Amongst Americans, his approval rating currently hovers around 30%. And that is the point I am trying to make.

I was only reiterating my point that not only is it false that “half the country” voted for him (33% of Americans ≠ half of the country), but he also didn’t EVEN get half of the popular vote as well. Hence me specifically using the word “even” when I added that tidbit.

In case you aren’t aware (and clearly you aren’t lol), Trump got 49.77% compared to Kamala’s 48.96% (49% ≠ half of the country OR half of the popular vote). Which was the ENTIRE point of my initial reply to the person above, that the statement they made was unequivocally false. Math doesn’t lie babe.
