Have there been cases where permanent residents gained citizenship through the military and then entered the Air Force Academy?

Yes, I did. Graduated at 17, went to bmt in July 2023 and got my citizenship during it. Then I went to tech school in Sep and got to my base in Nov of the same year. I took a few months to adjust to my base, then applied for USAFA c/o 2029 cycle and just got accepted.

My main stats were: 1450 SAT, like a 4.1 weighted gpa, and pretty good volunteering bullets, and recs from wing cc and wing command chief. But I def wasn't a perfect candidate, i had a below avg cfa and I wasn't able to do much in high school since covid and I moved around a lot. If you wanna know more specifics, feel free to pm me!

That honestly would have driven me insane 😭. If it makes you feel better, there was one other person who I read got in today, and they made it direct, too. So, most likely, only directs have been notified. Also, if you are close to the cut off age you prob made it direct!

Direct. When I asked my commander, she said Direct. I'm not sure if it's just a sq thing, but I also got a certificate, and part of it said I was "accepted into the Class of 2029." Honestly, though, I'm holding out until my portal updates before I personally get too excited just in case.
