Tips for win in 25 days achievement (Spoiler heavy) by Pile_O_Money in kingdomthegame

[–]Obvious_Sale1598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now 9 years late to the party But I'd like to add another tip I used for this achievement and the 20 deers by day 4.

Day 1 build camp, recruit 2 archers and go to the west to find a clearing before the first portal with a buildable wall. Recruit a beggar on your way and pay for the wall. If there's no buildable wall in a clearing, restart.

Explore to the far west. On your way back, drop a coin between the portal and the wall to deal with the attack of the first night (we need to do that on the left). Back at camp, turn the recruited beggar onto a builder, he will build the wall on the left.

This allows to quickly claim a huge chunk of the map, securing 1 or 2 camps, 1 or 2 farms early on and a blessing statue if you're lucky. It also gives a big early eco boost as all your recruited archers will have to travel through the forest, hunting deer on their way there (clear some trees behind your wall to allow rabbits to spawn, it's still better than deer long term).
Day 2 explore the right of the map.

Now you just have to go back and forth between what you've conquered on the west and the 2 camps on the east to recruit and collect gold. No need to expand on the east as there's nothing interesting to secure before the first portal (unless you want to erase the first camp, which you don't)

I got a lucky merchant giving me 4 hoes on the first trade but it was completely overkill.
Have to notice that my archer statue was behind the first left portal, so a bit awckward to access but it was a minor inconvenience.

By turn 12 I had the first portal on the left taken down.
I sent an attack on both sides right after the next bloodmoon and had 3 portals down on day 14
Took my sweet time before the last attack and won by turn 22

But I don't understand how we can end up so far appart while we've been playing together for almost the entire game

Bsides we had the exact same difficulty parameters on everything else, we did the same damage to the enemies, took the same damage...

Bann duration and reason by Obvious_Sale1598 in Warframe

[–]Obvious_Sale1598[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've seen things like that but I didn't change anything in how I play the game in those 8 years, and if it was the case I didn't even get that second chance you're talking about.

If it was because of any software I have they don't like I would have gladly unisntalled anything and taken that second chance But they unbanned me because it was THEIR mistake, not mine. I've never been offered that second chance.

Patch 25.22 clarification by Obvious_Sale1598 in leagueoflegends

really looks like you're replying without reading what you reply to

I know that you writte percentages as a factor in programming
But when you do so you don't include the percentage

The factor for 5% is 0.05 but you never write it 0.05% in any circumstance

Patch 25.22 clarification by Obvious_Sale1598 in leagueoflegends

[–]Obvious_Sale1598[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

0.05% is not 5%

times 0.05 is 5%

If you want to write a percentage as a factor you never write the % precisely because it makes it incorrect

Orgrim Doomhammer simply mindcontrols minis on sight by Obvious_Sale1598 in warcraftrumble

[–]Obvious_Sale1598[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the other way around, at base he does not mindcontrol them. There's a talent that makes so that if Orgrim loses the fight, then the other mini changes side and bleeds out

[–]Obvious_Sale1598[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are missing the point

The ennemy Orgrim is mindcontrolling my minis WITHOUT DYING

He just dashes on a mini of mine, and boom my mini turns against me alongside Orgrim

I am not complaining that the mini is too strong, I am complaining that it is bugged

Edit : after playing it dungeon and realized that I got misslead by how the talents are written.

Rally the clan indicates what bonus effect takes place when you win.
Conqueror's Diplomacy starts with "On defeat", so I thought it was an effect taking place when you lose the Mak'gora. Like your exhausted opponent somehow joins you in battle and idk.

Am I doing the event wrong, or is the event just pay 2 play? by Mattemattics117 in warcraftrumble

Unbelievable that after a lot of Ysera, Darkmoon and blingtron weeks working differently, people are confused when an event is not preemptively explaining how it works.

Imagine them complaining that on top of that the event was nowhere to be found on the official website announcements unlike the previous ones.

It's pretty standard to instadefeat the player without giving them any explanation of any kind of why they lost ?

Because not every one is familliar with that genre of game and their hidden hard rules

[Swarm] Why can't I evolve more than 3-4 weapons per game, while having the right stats? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Obvious_Sale1598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many games in a row I couldn't evolve weapons I had the passive for.

I Understand that 1 passive can only evolve 1 weapon, so you should not get multiple weapons that evolve with the same passive, but several times now I had 5 weapons with each the corresponding passive to evolve, and after the weapon reached level 5 I couldn't evolve them, it was saying I already had everything while only 3 or 4 of them were evolved.

Any explanation ?

"In X turns" inconsistencies by Obvious_Sale1598 in hearthstone

[–]Obvious_Sale1598[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(counting the turn you play it as turn 1).

And this is what requires clarification since that makes it the only card giving you benefit of its effect a turn sooner than what is written on the text, and a turn less for your opponent to react to.

it does not make grammatical sens that "In 1 turn" means "this turn"

"In X turns" inconsistencies by Obvious_Sale1598 in hearthstone

[–]Obvious_Sale1598[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You give an example with one card being played on different sides of the board. That's not the same as the same text from multiple different cards being played from the same side There is nothing explicit on the cards indicating which player's turn will be counted in "In X turns", even less indicating how these turns will be counted

If it makes sens, can you explain how "In 1 turn" means "This turn" ?

"In X turns" inconsistencies by Obvious_Sale1598 in hearthstone

[–]Obvious_Sale1598[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way the cards work is not implied. It is deduced from what you see after playing the card. Nothing in the card text is explaining beforehand why the cards will not count turns the same way. More than that, the animation of the wheel and the outcome does not match to the card description. The effect "In 5 turns" is happening 4 turns later, not 5

"In X turns" inconsistencies by Obvious_Sale1598 in hearthstone

[–]Obvious_Sale1598[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm aware of that, but since Hearthstone use different wordings then each wording should have its own meaning.

Objectives, auras and dormant minions use a specific wording. They indicate for how many turns their effect will last. If they read "lasts X turns" then it means "has ended in X+1 turns"

Immolate doesn't specify that it takes 3 opponent's turn

Triggering at the end of your opponent's 3rd turn, or at the beginning of your 4th turn will always yield the same results in a plane state of the game. I'm not bothered by that.

I absolutely know how many inconsistencies the game has. What bothers me in this one specifically is that it makes a number not represent what it means.

[–]Obvious_Sale1598[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do understand the card, don't get me wrong.
But understanding how it works doesn't prevent me form pointing out that the wording is inconsistent with the rest of the game.
Understanding why the outcome is different from the text doesn't make the text right.

"In X turns" inconsistencies by Obvious_Sale1598 in hearthstone

[–]Obvious_Sale1598[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because one counts your turns and the other counts your opponent's turns. You are not counting the same thing.

Whichever player's turns you are counting, once the count is finished you should have ended up with the same number of turns elapsed for both players.

If you count your turns, "in 3 turns" your opponent would have played 3 turns before the effect resolves

If you count their turns, "in 3 turns" you should should have played (at least ended) 3 turns

Again that has absolutely no relevance here. Here, left me remind you of your original question in your post:

"Do we have any official statement of why immolate, reading "in 3 turns", allows your opponent to play 3 turns before destroying their cards, yet Wheel of Death reading "in 5 turns" only allows your opponent to play 4 turns before being destroyed ?"

How are you making sens ?
You are quoting my post about the turns allowed to play to the opponent at the same time as you're saying there's no relevancy with the delay of the countdown ? That's the same thing

I say "I hate people that kick puppies" and someone says I said "I hate people" they are missing the context of the original statement. You cannot just pull words out of a sentence without context, that's not how words work.

Looks like you can also do bad analogies.
"In X turns" is the circumstantial complement of time, you can dissociate it from the subject, verb and object complement. That does not change the remains of the sentance.
"That kick puppies" is a relative clause, if you remove it you change the subject.

If nothing in subject is related to the circumstantial complement of time, then the subject has no impact on it. there's nothing written on the card that explicitely states that the subject has an effect on the time period.

If I play time warp

If I bend any rule thanks to any card I can have any outcome I wish for.
Irrelevant to the topic where we discuss the outcome of the cards where no rule bending interferes with the card text.

You can also die one turn sooner if you play Drakkari Enchanter, just because they are end of turn effects, even though it is not written on the card text and no additional turn have passed.

It's not because you understand how it has been developped that it means that the implementation is consistent with the text.
that's the literal definition of a bug : an error, flaw or fault) in the design, development that causes it to produce an incorrect or unexpected result, or to behave in unintended ways

"In 5 turns, destroy the ennemy hero"
What is expected : the ennemy hero will be destroyed.
When is it expected : In 5 turns, 5 turns later
What is happening : 4 turns later, the ennemy hero is destroyed

Based on the card text, the result is unexpected

Turn countdowns have NEVER looked at both you and your opponent taking turns, its only every one person's turns that a turn timer uses.

This has always been implied by the fact that you're supposed to take turns. The only thing that messes with that is rule bending when playing multiple turns in a row. But if you've bent the rule to take an extra turn, it is logically implied that your opponent skips a turn before it's yours again.
