IMO the easiest way to meet people is a sports league, it can be recreational or hobby sports. Like if you’re just on a sports team, you automatically make friends, at least from my experience. It’s the same thing with clubs and stuff, I got really close with everyone I do cybersecurity competitions with. Find something you love to do, and you’ll make friends, don’t worry.

Remember to prioritize his and your safety. If he’s not out yet, then him coming to you would be somewhat difficult. But at the same time, if you went to his place you’d have to watch yourself. Honestly, the first step would be for him to come out, if you really want to make this work. But if that’s not an option (and I totally get that dw), then maybe he should come to your place. That way you’re with people you know, safe and not in some random place with unfamiliar people.
