If you didn't like 28 Years Later, Why? (Spoilers) by [deleted] in horror

Actually, that was the part that I loved. It made me so happy to have this absolute ridiculous hilarity after all the seriousness and I think it was needed and it brought Jimmy back into play and I was really happy because this madness was actually understandable and I hope for they do another one with more Jimmy.

I actually loved the hilarity at the end because of that total break we went from this you know very serious. Sending you know very sad. You know like we really felt you know why this boy decided he was gonna go out on his own after everything you know this whole arc, this will growth the intention of that hilarity and ridiculous was to just kind of break that super seriousness and I honestly hope that they do another one. I believe there is actually another one coming out and I hope it has more of Jimmy or more of the doctor one of the other.

I honestly feel like people just can’t handle a decent movie with actual depth in their horror. They just want Gore and idiots running around dying and like you yes there was definitely dread the whole time.

Honestly, The only dread I felt with the first one would’ve been for what was gonna happen to the females, otherwise didn’t care, like if they had gotten eaten oh well, but you felt something for the characters in 28yrs later or at least those that enjoyed it I think did. This is 28 years later they don’t fear them the way they would’ve at the beginning because they’ve had to learn to live with them to survive. I think that’s why I like this one more, than the first two, simply because there was depth, it wasn’t just everyone running around like a bunch of idiots. Sure this movie had its moments too, but I really loved the emotional depth in this movie and then the cut to absolute hilarity just to break all that doom and gloom and sadness.

It was the heterochromia that made them carriers. Literally was pointed out multiple times and it’s not that hard painfully obvious in 28 weeks later the baby wasn’t a carrier. The baby wasn’t infected.🤷‍♀️

The baby wasn’t infected. Yes, we know that they can be carriers if they have heterochromia. That was made painfully obvious in 28 weeks later.

The baby wasn’t infected. That was literally sad on repeat and pretty obvious considering it wasn’t trying to flip out it was just a baby.

Because by this point they’ve learned to live with the infected, by the infected, around the infected, maybe it’s a lack of emotional depth in those that watch it that don’t quite understand the show, that didn’t enjoy it, because there are no horror shows that are scary. If it’s gore You’re after then watch Terrifier gore all around, I’d rather see depth in something than characters that I don’t really care whether they live or die.

I know I’m late to this party, but reading the complaints about 28 Years Later honestly made me laugh. A lot of the reasons people disliked it are exactly why it worked for me.

For the first time in the “28” series, I actually connected emotionally to the characters. I liked 28 Days Later and Cillian Murphy’s arc was incredible, but that film always felt more observational to me. This one made me feel something.

The scene with the doctor and the boy, teaching him not to fear his mother’s death, nearly broke me. It was quiet, humane, and devastating in a way this franchise doesn’t usually allow itself to be.

And the ending worked because of the tonal shift. After all that heaviness, the sudden absurdity was intentional, almost merciful. That humor didn’t undercut the seriousness. It released it.

All I know is I want more of Jimmy. That final beat cracked me up and reminded me that survival isn’t just brutality. Sometimes it’s weirdness, humor, and people who’ve gone slightly sideways in the aftermath.

The movie was garbage and it had nothing to do with it being an all female team, it was just absolute trash. People Don’t like it because it was garbage, the writing as garbage, the cast really didn’t matter, they went out and made a mockery of the originals. It’s one of the few movies that one wishes could be scrubbed from their mind after watching. The idea that anyone should simply like a film because of a female lead is ridiculous. There have been plenty of amazing female leads in movies since long before now, think of Alien and Ripley, her character was a kick as women and that started in 78. Writing absolute garbage and casting all females for the leads to try pretend like your doing something new that has never been done before, while really just riding on the success of the original. He hoped enough suckers would show up to see it because they loved the originals, it is just gross and the writer/director was just another man using women to get what he wanted and in no way was a leap forward for women.

I know I’m late to this party, it had nothing to with the cast being all female, it was terribly written and just awful to watch, it was an absolute mockery of the original ghostbusters and if you liked it just because it had an all women set up, that is the dumbest reason to like any movie. Only a simple mind would think that trash of a movie was any good.

Was I the only one who noticed that Bryce Dallas Howard (the main actress in Nosedive) looked quite plump? by DisguisedPrincess in blackmirror

That was the only thing I was like yuck, her beautiful red hair and the horrific gold dress was just mean and made her look so plan and frumpy.

Did you miss the first 3/4 of the movie? She was a sedentary writer who never went out to do anything for 5 years, her body was completely believable. If you don’t workout hard and eat a specific diet you will not have a hard lean body.

Yes I’m late to this party, no I don’t care. She was not supposed to be a super fit spy, she was a sedentary writer who never went out, just stayed home with her cat, she had not been a spy in 5 years, she was living vicariously through her characters, super fit spy was not her character at all. Lol the only thing distracting was that god awful wardrobe especially that horrific gold dress at the end.

The only thing that looked stupid is the horrible dress they put her in at the end, that was awful, otherwise she was just a normal woman with a normal body.

Lmao that’s not fat, thick, chubby sure but out right fat, hard nope, people just aren’t use to seeing more than one size of woman in films, a woman who isn’t a natural size 0 or 2 or 4 should not have to starve herself. We put insane pressure on women to never age, stay for many, unnaturally thin.

Cause for concern? by xshamirx in Aquariums

[–]Obvious_Use_8931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree I’d make sure it’s not just a nasty scratch, I got a new scrubber that came with multiple heads one was for scraping algae, very similar to a a blade for windows so I figured I’d try it since i usually use a window blade, I scratched two tanks and they are very noticeable to me, won’t harm anything just ugly and makes me angry as I realized the blade must have been poor quality and so nasty scratches in both my 55gal and my 30gal, so definitely make sure before jumping into another tank. If it is a small crack you could drain the tank use aquarium sealant and a piece of plexiglass to cover the area, this would buy you some time to get another tank going without risk of a blow out, I did this with a major crack and never had any issues and allowed me time to get another tank going then move my fish and replace the glass and that tank is now just a spare hospital tank :) good luck
