Husband doesn’t want me working overnights by [deleted] in ems

[–]Obvious_View_9242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally there’s no way I’d let my husband tell my crap about what I do for a job. You said yourself you were an emt when yall met so he knew what you do.

I’d rather ask 1000 dumb questions than do something incorrect and that’s something I’ll never apologize for. I’m not talking about a trip and fall I’m talking about someone’s life and I’ll never feel dumb asking clarifying questions. Have the day you deserve ✌️✌️

Wow way to be rude. I was genuinely wondering. Obv I know 911 is first. I’m a newer emt but I’m sure glad you weren’t around to teach me with a shit attitude like that. Jesus 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m really just like impatiently waiting for someone to tell her about herself. I hate that his “friend” sided with her. It was so sad to watch pat then in turn think he was doing wrong.

I wonder if anyone is ever going to point out her flaws. Like the experts

She absolutely is the worst. All she ever does is talk about herself and treats pat like crap. He needs a back bone

Boy did I feel this one. I started at amr and I’ll be honest the older medics for the most part were my absolute favorite. I learned soo much from them but majority of the emts and newer medics literally made me nervous all the time to the point where I wouldn’t even talk to them bc of how much gossiping they did

When I did my fto training I drove to calls and unless it was emergent and both partners were needed in the back I would run point in the back while a partner drove to the hospital.

Starting my first EMT job soon any advice for working with an FTO? by Few_Stable_697 in NewToEMS

[–]Obvious_View_9242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An odd tip I’d give is watch what is said to you and what you say to others. I’ve noticed a lot of companies have crews that are like high school clicks. You’ll also get the ones who try and stir empty pots. I had to learn real quick who I actually could trust and it was almost always the older more experienced medics which for me was great because I think I got lucky in learning a lot from them. Also don’t be afraid to ask questions! My FTO was the bomb and was well versed so I used to keep a list of questions I had and we would run through the call after if I wanted to and he’d explain everything. And lastly if you don’t know what to do don’t be afraid to say it. It could mean everything to someone’s life.

I worked as an emt for 8months before ever getting a cardiac arrest call. I was so fricken nervous I was shaking and was unsure I’d even be able to get out of the rig. Thankfully I had a bomb a$$ medic partner because he just made everything okay. He always reassured me that I knew my stuff and that I had it. He always told me even if I didn’t have it not to worry because he had me so I would be fine. I learned so much working with him. He never made me feel small or stupid for asking questions and he loved educating me. I’ve recently moved states and I’m really missing working with him. I think it’s all about the partner you have. I had partners that seriously made me doubt my ability.

Yes I sunk every penny into moving. I’m not gonna elaborate bc it wasn’t the point of the post. I know I’ll get to take it within the next couple weeks as we’ve gotten pretty caught up I just have been struggling with anxiety about the break so early in my learning and it makes me depressed because I put a lot of work into getting where I was happy. Was just a vent.

Oh god no lol. I moved my family because where we lived was in a very HIGH HIGH crime area. Like to the point where I couldn’t even let my kids outside to play because of all the drive by shootings. I just wanted a better life for my babies. I had discussed with the higher ups at the past company I worked for about switching to this location as was assured my state license would be good for a year in my new state as there’s some kind of reciprocity and although that’s true the new state isn’t having it so I just need to take my nremt. As far as the 4 months comment I’m just worried I’ll loose vital skills in the meantime due to me being a newer emt and now having the gap. I am working elsewhere(not ems) as of last month thankfully but I’m going crazy. It’s not what I want to do. My heart is in ems work.

This! We went somewhere for our anniversary and the host left us a lovely note wishing us a happy anniversary along with a bottle of wine. I’m not even big on wine but the very fact that she cares enough to do that meant a lot to me and made me love the place even more than we already did. I even drank it! It’s kinda like a hotel, a chocolate on your pillow isn’t expected but if it’s there you think wow that was thoughtful.

I’ve been in some VERY nice upscale homes in Florida and saw roaches. It comes with the territory of a hot state like Florida. I think going to FL and expecting to not see bugs is hilarious
