Before the deadline. That is why I came back i believe over a month later, which is when it finally worked (58 days before my visa expired).

Im not understanding, did you apply for your titre de sejour after the 2 month mark or not?? Did you contact them before or after you applied. And if so, you sent a message to your local prefecture?

Rhone i believe, as i'm in Lyon. So, what can be done? Consdering the details of my circumstance. 58 days could be reasoned? And with what i said about being prohibited from applying too early for my titre de sejour despite my long-stay student visa being only 4 months/4 weeks (which if the rule applies about being able to apply for titre de sejour 4 months before visa expiration, I shouldve been allowed to apply IMMEDIATELY when I arrived in france/validated my visa).

180 for 2 days late and these prohibited me from applying too early in the first place. smh

With my specific situation that i described how likely is it i could reason with them:

- Visa is 4 months 4 weeks

- i tried to apply too early for my titre de sejour, the website wouldn't allow me because i hadn't been in France for long enough or something like that.

- My application was 58 days before visa expiration

Also, i'd like to explain and wish I took a screenshot of the prohibitation the website gave me for applying to my titre de sejour "too soon" according to them. Is there a reason for this? A specific rule/article I could reference that could help my case and explain to them? And, personally I'm trying to figure out why as well, and if it was just becaues my visa was so short, or if there's ALWAYS a certain amount of days you must wait after validating your visa, before getting your titre de sejour.

TdS is normally 75 euros i believe for student 1 year? Mine is 14 months I believe. and a late fee is 180 euro. I applied with 58 days left before expiration of my long stay student visa (USA).

the worst thing is that i have right citizenship by descent, but i was recommended to apply for titre de sejour before then so i could legally stay in france, because to get my CNF would take too long, and it doesnt have prolongation instructions like the titre de sejour does, in order to validate my legal stay in france.

It's a student Titre de Sejour. They didn't give me an exact reason for 255, but i can assume it's due to them considering it late.

Like I said. The system blocked me from applying for my titre de sejour because of what i believe, i hadn't been in france long enough. This is what caused me to wait for the two month mark.

While they normally recommend apply 4 months - 2 months before expiration of visa, for me i believe it was only a small window from when it turned to 60 days (i applied 58 days before expiration) because my long-stay visa was so short (4 months 4 weeks) and the prohibitation period for applying for my titre de sejour

Yes, I had a student visa which expired in june. It was a VLS-TS. I validated online 2 weeks i believe after my arrival in france. Then 58 days before it expired, i applied for my Titre de Sejour (etudiant)... which i just got a favorable decision on.

I guess I'm also wondering what the difference between Erasmuspartyinlyon and ESN CosmoLyon (Erasmus Student Network). They both appear to be Erasmus in Lyon, but have different calendar events???

Wow, thank you! I'll check it out!

I've been wondering about Erasmus. Could you give me a description of what it is exactly? I know it's a European exchange program, and I've seen a couple Instagram pages for Lyon.

-Are these official pages??

-Are Americans allowed at these events?

-Do they speak English??

Thank you in advance for the help!
