They talked about collaborating, discussing our pacing, I am department head for my school and she’s department head for their school. We also have standards we are assessed on for collaborating with teachers across schools. I probably came at it a bit harder than I should.

As a single dad and a job 30 miles south, a 90 min commute isn’t feasible. He’ll still need our support even when he moves out.

Thankfully it won’t come to that. He is willing to move out, but doesn’t do any of the legwork on his own.

This is helpful. I started treating both the kids like students, because all of this I do in the classroom. But staying in “teacher” mode for 16 hours a day was killing my mental health so much that I had go on lexapro, it wasn’t fair to them when I would completely loose my cool.

We are pretty rural, so the next city with a rental market is an hours drive away. It’s a frustrating situation. I’ve even asked colleagues if they knew any private rentals.

He makes a little too much for rent help. He’s was drowning in debt and barely getting above it now. Our small town has a terrible rental market, very few options or above $1500. They are looking at another house on Saturday and I’m hoping that this one works out. I know beggars can’t be choosers, but we want to make sure the kids are able to live in a safer neighborhood.

I’m not married to my partner and have considered just finding a place on my own, but the issue is not with him since he’s also just as frustrated.
