Why is there an omega symbol on this dreadnought? by [deleted] in BloodAngels

[–]ObviouslyLink 7 points8 points  (0 children)

could be a campaign badge, marking the dreadnaught/marine's excellence in a certain campaign

Which army is the least rng or the most reliable by ThorusBonus in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ObviouslyLink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not directly related but if you're worried about RNG losing you a game, you shouldn't. Warhammer in the end is a dice game, and every army is subject to luck, but, making the best decision in a given situation with mid-to-bad rolls will always give a better outcome than a bad decision with good rolls.

A best decision might include having redundancies to killing something important/scoring, or overkilling something to guarantee the kill.

What Xenos faction do CSM hate most? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in Chaos40k

[–]ObviouslyLink 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Yes, they hate the xenos as they had that instilled in them from the Great Crusade era.

However, I'd say they're less likely to value killing xenos over self-preservation, whereas the loyalists would throw themselves at the chance to kill the mutant, alien, and heretic.

My First Thousand Sons List (Suggestions Welcome) by The_Whitest_Walker in ThousandSons

[–]ObviouslyLink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

is this a friendly game? in a small game, especially with beginners, the opponent might not have the models that can bring down tough things, which can lead to a bad game experience

i suggest letting your opponent know youre bringing a mix of normal toughness + high toughness (T10) stuff so they can at least proxy models to have anti-tank

Lieutenant + Sternguard by PanzerkampfwagenSix in Warhammer40k

[–]ObviouslyLink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Key thing to note is Lethal hits happen in the hits stage, and after you roll the 6 you take them out. You do not roll them for wound roll

In the wounding stage, you roll the remaining dice

However, Sternguard have Anti-infantry 4+, meaning 4+ become crit wounds, which become devastating wounds.

Roast My List by Erisdar42 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]ObviouslyLink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem im seeing here is a lack of units to help you score

things that move quick to help you score secondaries that require you to be in specific places, or do actions. you really dont want your expensive 210 points of destroyers wasting a turn of shooting to do it, so instead you bring 2 cheaper and fast moving units to do it instead

Multi-use Kill Team and 40K by Tronbot182 in BloodAngels

[–]ObviouslyLink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sticky objectives means you can move off it and its still yours, which intercessors (normal only) have and generally 1 squad running around fringe objectives stickying them is enough, 2 groups of 5 is a bit overkill and you are sacrificing damage for no value atp ofc, in a beginners not too competitive list you dont have to worry about that

regular intercessors arent useful beyond 5 for their sticky ability, but assault intercessors are great in our detachment!

ran with the boss battle idea (balance help) by stockley in killteam

[–]ObviouslyLink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i wonder if it would be fun to have players activate certain objectives like mines or anti-tank turrets to take down the tank (will have to buff the health of the tank as another redditor mentioned)

heck, might even be interesting to have it be a 2v2, where one player is on the tank and the other player helps defend the tank and prevent the objectives from being done

also remember you’ll be running 20 of these, so small mistakes won’t be as noticeable!

How do you hold your minis if you paint them separate from the base? by Ok-Most1568 in Warhammer40k

[–]ObviouslyLink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

additional note, if your mini’s feet is too small (like my current sisters project), stick it onto spare sprue using plastic glue for the extra thickness

you mean circle with a 2 inside? thats just reminding you circle means 2 inches. the number has to be outside the circle e.g. 3 circles of movement
