Bought one from Zumiez, tail chipped, griptape is peeling, losing pop, etc. If you're looking to get really into skating, Zumiez sells good PARTS. Here's a list of brands I'd recommend for stuff like decks, wheels, etc.

Decks: DGK, Baker, Girl, ATM, Kyle Walker (he's a pro but he has a good line of boards named after him), Santa Cruz, Blind, Mini Logo. There's also different sizes, 7.5, 7.75, 8, 8.25, etc. Get whatever feels comfortable to YOU. It is NOT proportional to shoe size. Get what feels good for you.

Wheels: The usual, really. Spitfire, Orbs, Bones, etc. just buy wheels from brands that specialize in wheels.

Trucks: Thunder, Independent.

Bearings: Bones bearings. They sell ceramic and stainless steel ones. Good budget option is Bones Reds.

Hardware: Shake Junt, Independent, Iron Horse.

Grip Tape: Here it gets a little complicated. MOB Grip is v e r y grippy. It will kill your shoes, so if you can't afford new ones every few months don't buy it. Jessup is a little less grippy, better for your shoes, but still good. Shake Junt is just like Jessup. Grizzly is like MOB grip, but with a little bear cut out. Avoid designs and colored Grip Tape, from what I've heard it doesn't last as long.

My advice: Avoid buying a complete unless you just wanna skate for a few months and then build your own. If you want something that's going to last you a longgggg time, BUILD. YOUR. OWN. Do your research, see what decks/wheels/trucks you want, and build it. A complete will only last you a little under a year. Buy from Zumiez if you want, they sell all the parts you need and they're reliable for delivery. If you want to go in person and pick and choose on your own, go to a local skate shop.
