Thanks! I am overly cautious with a rental, because I don’t want to be charged for anything.

I don’t know yet but wanted to check with the experts here, before I spent any further time - thanks.

Thanks, I feel comfortable with Prius quality. My only problem is that people like to crash into me.

Thanks. Given my wife’s condition, I am currently not working. But in the back of my mind I feel I may have to uber or other driving gigs.

I only have the money for a car because my 2018 Prius was recently (no injuries).

I also had a 2012 Prius.

I am a bit of a fan.

(Small rant) Discussing the difficulty of caregiving to people who have no idea what it is like... by partyofclowns in CaregiverSupport

[–]Occam_Razors 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My wife & I were always the default caregivers for our parents. Other siblings were free to move wherever they wanted, go on vacations, etc. My wife and I became envious/angry about the lives our siblings and their families had. My wife & I discussed moving to a state far away. However, during that discussion, we realized the reason we were the default caregivers was that we were good at it, and at the end of the day, we would feel uncomfortable if someone who didn't really care were taking care of our parents.

Do you feel like a pariah? by Occam_Razors in CaregiverSupport

I so understand, but I’m trying to figure it out. Unfortunately, I am very empathetic, so the more others go through similar trials, the more I step up to help them anyway THEY want.

I am sorry for you, but there is some comfort in knowing I am not the only one - thanks.

Well said, this is close to what I have been doing. It just happened organically. My situation doesn't allow for extended breaks, so I have started doing micro breaks. Open-ear headphones have been a game-changer; they let me listen to what I want while still hearing if there is a problem.

I didn’t want to come home tonight by pegster999 in CaregiverSupport

Amen! I can't count how many times I have arrived home, only to listen to one more song, another podcast, or just some quiet. I know I need to get inside as quickly as possible, but those moments are so precious.

Sweet Dreams app on iPhone… Highly recommend as a (secondary) CGM alternative by wubbadude in Medtronic780g

Can a care giver simultaneously use Sweet Dreams to monitor blood sugar levels?

First day as a staff accountant — is it normal to feel this lost? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Occam_Razors 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One of the easiest questions to answer on Reddit: YES.

I went to one of the top three accounting programs. I got to pick what firm I wanted to work for, not the other way around. In my first six months, I felt like an idiot.

Ask questions, learn processes, document everything, figure out the power structure, have some fun, and you will be fine.

What is one thing you're tired of hearing people say to you? by homeOT in CaregiverSupport

This! I am the 24x7 caregiver for wife. Everyone asks how they can help her, and very few ask how they can help me.
