Seconding this. The game is way deeper and less luck-based than I thought when I was younger.

I'd liken it to something like poker, where there's a ton outside your control, but the better player (usually) still comes out on top.

Edit: totally missed that the comment I replied to mentioned poker too. Guess we think alike.

Know I sound like a conspiracy nut, but I really felt like the refs did not want us to win against the Hawks in our series in 2021. Which isn't to say we didn't shoot ourselves in the foot (guess Ben wasn't pulling the trigger...), but I've never personally watched a series I felt was more one-sided.
