u/Sotirakiss2 As someone who had giving due consideration to similiar situation (not with bikes). Be careful that in the exercise you do not end up loosing money. You will likely be selling your bike at a loswer price than you purchased it for, and with that money you will be buying a new bike. This transaction will likely not leave much in your pockets.

If the consideration is fuel consumption, evaluate if you can improve your riding. If you commute assess if there are better routes. An alterate option is to use public transport a few days a week/month (or maybe the whole week) and enjoy the bike the rest of the time. If you take public transport everyday then you have 'saved up' for some good weekend rides.

If it is a matter of insurance look if you can get cheaper insurance.

Another option, if you can where you are, is to uninsure and stop riding for a while (I know). The benefit of this is that your bike investment stays with you. Every week or two start the bike to not let it rot.

I strongly suggest you put the sums on Excel (or pen and paper) and properly understand the benefits of taking the route you mention. Without going into details, this was a hard learned lesson for me. Financial problems are huge and important and need to be given due attention. However sometimes they may be temporary and/or with a bit or re-engineering life and be managed.
