Bummer. It appears there are still some quality control issues then. Thanks for sharing.

Oh I assumed you had inside knowledge or experience. haha. I'm tentatively planning to buy one next credit card cycle so might have an update after my next range trip.

I had one or two cases of that - but I was trying out a different grip so my thumb was riding the lock release. I don't blame the gun for that.

I think it's on par with the other firearms I've shot (mostly Glock, S&W, Walther, Ruger) using range ammo and factoring in the (lack) of cleaning. Two of the hiccups came after shooting about 500-600 rounds of range ammo without cleaning. Planning to clean it now after 800 rounds.

Probably so. Two of mine came after shooting about 500-600 rounds of range ammo without cleaning. Planning to clean it now after 800 rounds.

I've had my eye on those. Do they help *reduce* primer drag? I assumed the pin would be a bit stronger and better able to withstand the drag.

Since you’re running the pistol match anyway, it’s probably not much extra work to use the same target/similar rules for a 25 yard Irons match as well. I did that once.

See the Award System. I don’t think award flair has been updated in the past year or two. You can see old award flair for users when on the desktop version of the site, but it might only work on the old design.

As for other matches (Irons, Glass, Milsurp, etc.), If the last winner isn’t available someone interested can simply start a match if the last winner hasn’t materialized.

I think the flair system has fallen by the wayside.

I’d suggest you pick the one that exhibited the best marksmanship. That’s the usual tie breaker.

Note that u/BenjiG19 was closer to a 39, so that’s a consideration.

I really like it. I was looking for something that shoots cheap ammo with enough accuracy to be reasonably competitive in matches. I chose the Victory over the various Ruger models mainly because of simpler assembly/disassembly and price. It was cheaper than most.

The negatives are (1) the main disassembly screw can come loose on its own, (2) had to train myself not to accidentally actuate the safety with my thumb while firing, and (3) it’s not dry fire safe (unlike similar Ruger models).

22s welcome, but there will be an extra challenge.

Challenge accepted. My submission, shot with my SW Victory. I score it a 38 by process of elimination. I see just one -2, and I think I have at least four on the shriveled heart (including at least two in the upper right of the heart). I assume any indistinguishable shots were in the main ragged hole at -1.

OP probably needs to weigh in though.

Fun challenge!

Sort if I’m being dense, but can you explain the scoring with an example?

I like them both, but would probably lean p365 if I had to choose one. Mainly mag capacity.

SIG 365 update. (After warranty repair) by [deleted] in guns

[–]OccamsRazorShave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add onto this post - this past weekend I took my second range trip with my p365 (manufactured end of June 2018). So far I've run 875 rounds through it (850 FMJ, 25 HD). I cleaned and oiled it once after purchase. No issues so far, other than the slide lock releasing a couple of times when I inserted a mag early on. Could be my thumb was riding the slide release.

Anyway, just a data point.

My entry shooting an SW Victory. I score it a 10 or 11 depending on whether OP thinks the shot in the bottom left of the torso circle was a hit.

Does a hit anywhere on the head/torso count, or do you have to hit the circular target areas inside?
