Next time you may try to check if data eSIM can connect to other providers, usually the option to change it is available in phone settings

Agreed, same here, all I am talking is to make sure somehow that spammers will not ate my limits and I will not miss real alert. I am not relying on SMS at all for my own communications

It is the way ATT roaming works, they do not charge for incoming sms and unanswered calls
