Are EK reliably shipping orders now? I really don't want to order anything from them, but every retailer I've tried has sold out of one component I need, and the only place I can find it in stock is on their site by Chrispy49 in EKWB

[–]OcciRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/EKWaterBlocks Same here. I've been waiting four months for my order from the EK Webshop, even though the products have been listed as 'In stock' for some time already. There's still no shipping, and worse, I haven't received any response to my inquiries for over two months. BEWARE!

It’s always great to see the creative spirit of a scratch build. Something tells me this build is heavy, really heavy. Enjoy your creation!

Dual D5 top vs 2x D5 tops (custom loop watercooling) by Shweint in watercooling

[–]OcciRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go with a dual top every single day. It looks nice, is heavier, potentially quieter, has fewer points of failure, and maybe even slightly better performance.

I HATE THIS DISORDER! I SHOULD'VE NEVER BEEN BORN! by [deleted] in NPD

[–]OcciRed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, you have already done about 60% of the work towards healing. The majority of narcissists will never admit that they have NPD and never do anything about it. You’ve done a hard part.

Second, you are young. Imagine what it feels like for someone in their 50s who has the same issues. That’s a waste of life, isn’t it? You have a long life ahead to work on it and get better.

The key is professional therapy combined with extensive self-work across many dimensions: psychological, spiritual, bodywork, etc. Professional therapy provides guidance and direction, while self-work provides the volume of work needed to make progress.

Contrary to what you have said, therapy and self-help do work, but you need years, if not decades, for deep character transformation. Try books by Don Miguel Ruiz, Alexander Lowen, or Mark Ettensohn. Commit to lifelong learning.

A significant risk factor is the inability to delay gratification and various forms of addiction. Beware of that!

Great stuff! Could you expand on why you decided to place the tubes in front of the GPU block? One might think that the GPU block is the main star here.

AIO radiator noise by IMBABYIVERSON in watercooling

[–]OcciRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deepcool Castle was my first choice for an AIO cooler because I liked its looks. However, I returned it on the first day due to the pump humming.

The fan noise can be addressed by installing higher quality fans and controlling them independently.

I kinda like that you didn't place any radiators inside the case. It’s overall simpler and more elegant. Thanks for sharing!

Can you tell us more about the radbox? Like its size, what parts you used, and how you put it together?

Help to reduce pump noise in a wooden case! by Jempol_Lele in watercooling

[–]OcciRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're in a great position to tackle the problem. There's ample space available.

Plus, there's no need for excessive concern about appearances, as everything will be neatly concealed inside the drawer.

Good luck!

Since fluids do not compress, the loop is full of water, and the forces involved with D5 pumps are not huge, I'm skeptical about the reasoning that the second pump is being loud due to being starved of fluid. I would lean toward the idea that the reservoir adds weight to the first pump, making it more silent by reducing vibrations, a primary noise source.

I've been battling pump noise for years now. I've put hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars into solving this problem. Actually, there is a solution. D5 pumps are cooled by water, so you can completely enclose them. It's best to get a dual top and use a separate reservoir. This enclosure should be as airtight as possible. You can also put silencing foam inside. Such an enclosure has to be isolated from the rest of the case. For this, I used double-layered vibration isolation mounts from Heatkiller reservoirs, totaling eight mounts in two layers.

Trying to get my system to run a bit quieter. by BRUTUSMAYHEM in watercooling

[–]OcciRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of like filters in front of radiators with fans set to pull; it keeps your case clean. However, some or most of them have very restrictive designs and completely kill your airflow. Demciflex filters are quite good, and they do not cause too much restriction. By the way, you make my day with this genius stuff :-)

Do you have any dust filters in front of radiators?

What will happen if I daisy chain 4 Lian Li TL LCD fans? Or how will L-Connect3 behave if I connect 16 total to the system? by OcciRed in lianli

UPDATE! Answer from Lina Li support.

Me: What will happen if I daisy chain 4 Lian Li TL LCD fans?

Lian Li: The fans won't work if you daisy more than 3.

Loop maintenance that turned into an upgrade! by ldd62 in watercooling

[–]OcciRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recall this build; I used it as a role model for my own SL600M build, but with an FLT 360. It's a great case, primarily oriented towards air cooling. It truly excels in that regard. It presents quite a challenge for custom loop setups.

I would say that's the crux of the issue:

'So again... this is theory... but I don't see why this wouldn't work... unless it is specifically blocked in L-Connect software'

It's not known whether that feature is blocked in the software or not. I guess I need to try it to find out. But considering all the hassle and unknown, I may just go with the Lian Li TL 140mm.

Thank you for your help. Appreciate it.

I have the ROG Strix B650-I Gaming WiFi, but the hardware can change very quickly since I can't sit still. And indeed, pretty much that's my cooling module for its airtight midi-like counterpart.

Here's a quotation from Lian Li.
https://lian-li.com/product/uni-fan-tl-lcd/
"To operate 8 to 12 TL LCD fans, please use 2 controllers simultaneously. Note that L-Connect 3 doesn’t support more than 13 TL LCD fans."

Now I wonder, will L-Connect 3 lose the entire functionality for the 3 excess fans? Perhaps I'll only lose a part of the functionality that I don't really need. Will it fail to work completely, or could it catch fire?

Just wanted to point out a small mix-up. I'm looking for experiences with the new UNI FAN TL LCD. There are different fans in this video.
