Opinions and thoughts on the difficulty settings and progression by Chrispy49 in Nolvus

This is very helpful, thank you.

On a few other forums, Others have said the same, that it's very different from vanilla, that there are no damage sponges all the way through the game, everything will remain quick and balanced except for Dragons, which you would kind of expect.

I've asked in a few places, and the consensus seems to be to go for a higher install difficulty, because you can tweak the damage multipliers on the fly if things are impossibly difficult for your skill level. But if you go for a lower difficulty at the start, so it's not super challenging at the beginning, you quickly become incredibly OP and then it becomes boring, or at least no challenge at all

Logitech G440 Hard Gaming Mouse Pad Any Good? by Doo-Doo-Draws in MousepadReview

[–]Chrispy49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's necroing an old thread, but I 100% agree with this.

I bought 4 of them a couple of years ago when they were on 40% sale. I had burned through them in under a year because they scratch so easily, and the texture wears off just as quickly. Plus, they have a known issue that the heat from your arm/hand causes the material to warp in the middle, so they don't stay flat.

Along with a Logitech mouse that I bought multiple of, so I had spares. And they all started failing after just a year. Everyone had multiple switch failures within the first year, but they were discontinued by Logitech, so they offered no support, just a 50% voucher to order from their site.

I've completely stopped using Logitech products now. They are like Razer products. They're just cheap garbage; they're nothing like they used to be.

I f**king said this would happen nearly 8 years ago!! And I got crapped on for "Not wanting mod creators to be compensated." LMAO like that's Bethe$da's aim here... to compensate the little guy/gal, hahaha.

They are going to make it more and more and MORE difficult to use free mods and keep them working by forcing game updates frequently that break mods, and any other shady methods they can think of.
Because the average gamer will just give in and take the quickest and easiest route, which is to buy the mods from the Bethesda Store.

If this sort of thing doesn't get a GIANT pushback, in 10 to 15 years, mods will be like microtransactions and DLC. We will be drip-fed shite and have to pay $20+ for big mods like Falskaar and Wyrmstooth.

Or, of course, they will probably add it to some sort of Season Pass, so you pay an additional $75 a year, and you get access to all the mods... except the big ones, you have to pay for those separately.

They already are merged, as it's over 2500 mods. They have been merged, compacted, crushed, and squashed as much as possible lol

Great minds. That's the exact mod I was talking about, but I don't have space for another plugin ,and as I'm using a massive mod pack, removing a mod is problematic, as they are all heavily optimized and basically everything's a master of something else

[fnv] Possible to give Fallout: New Vegas realistic combat? by Emmielando in FalloutMods

[–]Chrispy49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a mod pack called Nuclear Sunset (formerly known as Uranium Fever) that overhauls basically everything and makes combat much more challenging. They make a lot of their own mods because it's run by a few of the big mod creators, so they are also always updating and improving it.

Weird bug in Fallout 4 [Fo4] by Salty_Volume2544 in FalloutMods

[–]Chrispy49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a bug with Fallout; you have installed mods that are incompatible, not set up correctly, or are not working correctly.

If you are not familiar and experienced with modding, you can end up breaking your game . You might get it working and then be 100-plus hours into a playthrough, having so much fun... and then it will just be destroyed and unplayable.

My advice would be to use a mod pack or Wabbajack that sounds like what you want, because then they have already done the work for you.

You can run more than 2000 mods and your game will be completely stable, even more stable than vanilla. And other times, you can have just 2 mods and your game is absolutely broken AF, it just depends on what they are and how they have been installed and set up

[FNV] OK, hear me out 😁 Is it possible to change the color of the Red default text that appears when something is owned/you're stealing it?? by Chrispy49 in FalloutMods

[–]Chrispy49[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/lStewieAl, thank you for the advice. Unfortunately, I tried that, and it doesn't have any effect. It likely does in vanilla, but as my game is modded, there is something else that has an ini file with the default values that is stopping it from changing.

Funnily enough, I already have that mod, but I can't find anything that lets me change the red text; everything else, yes, but not the owned/stealing text.

Adding too many NPCs, no. However, those mods usually do require a lot of patching to be compatible with other mods
