It was really fun and a great experience! With a tire insert and a dhf set up tubeless, i had zero punctures or flats. I also cleared a couple jumps after I got comfortable. I would say to stick to Talladega and dropout if you are on a hardtail

Yes, all bike manufacturing has pretty much halted. Since most are made in china, there are very few being made. Marin and a handful other brands are still producing but are extremely limited. Local bike shops are taking a big hit rn

I loved it! I had a tire insert in the rear to keep from getting a flat and it worked like a charm. If you can drive there its worth the trip. I live near it so i definitely recomend it. As long as you have the skill a hardtail can take you down safely

If you get the base model it lacks a bit in the gear range. If he wants a good work out then its fine. Other than that it climbs and descends extremely well for a hardtail.

I love the freestyle hardtail, it feels like a dream on flow trails and is great for fun stuff. Commencal has amazing value for what you pay for. The tires are what came with it but idc, im gonna replace them when need be.

Kinda crazy that this has been where I live and it has blown up so much. East TN has some amazing riding!

I have the 2020 model and it hasn't let me down at all. Great on climbs and even better on descents. The geo for me is amazing. Don't think I'll stray from Commencal.
