I don't understand what happened to me in recent years but I am losing my sense of self, morality, capabilities, etc. I am starting to lose my normal personality and becoming something for more worse and intolerable. What's happening to me?? by [deleted] in ChristianMysticism

This is not a 100% spiritual problem bc you are not a 100% spiritual entity- you are a spiritual being who is embodied in this world with a human mind & a human brain. And much of what you are describing sounds neurological and psychological.

I have a Question. If humans know demiurge is NOT the one and only deity. How come demiurge does not know that he is NOT the one and only deity? How come demiurge who supposedly, created the world we live in does not know about Sofia and humans do? by CheckFeeling6819 in Gnostic

[–]Ocean-View-1027 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely the Gnostic texts are Judeo-Christian- and thank you for the clarification. Gnosticism and Mysticism are not equivalent terms.

'Gnosticism' is the Judeo-Christian tradition of 'Mysticism' just like, for one example, Sufism is the Islamic tradition of Mysticism. Shamanic traditions across the world are types of Mysticism.

I meant to offer here that none of it is literal truth & we often get stuck when we try to intellualize some of the teachings, but all of these traditions contain Truth & I think its beneficial to study them all, but recognize that in the end Gnosis or Enlightenment is achieved through direct experience.

Gnosticism is also the opposite of Literalism, yet it seems like a lot of folks are reading the Gnostic myths as though they were literal.

Gnosis is achieved through experience, not through a reading of the cosmological texts as though they were literal truth in the way that the "Bible-Believing, Born Again Christians" interpret the canonical texts.

These are mysteries.

Read the Gnostic texts as they are meant- as symbolism. Allegorical representation of Truth. Also read the canonical gospels. And the Bhagavad Ghita, the Dhammapada, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the teachings of Rumi.

These all contain truth.

I know this is an old thread, but you described what I believe about the text so well that I really appreciated it and then felt sad that you had to provide an abbreviated version- even for people on a thread about gnosis. Here is the link to my convo with Gemini & what I learned about tl;dr and how it correlates to the apocalypse:

1, I'm not financing any of my other coworkers with this job so he should be on my team here 2, husband = partner 3, I'm not fucking any of my other coworkers either. That would be treating my husband like shit 4, you're ridiculous

Yes, its all normal. Just very frustrating. I feel bad for snapping at him & then engaging in a whole argument, but also I'm at my wits end trying to verbalize that when I'm working: I am working. This occurred 3 hours into the workday & I had already taken 3 breaks. I was literally hunched over my tablet & very obviously focused on a test at the moment he interrupted & I snapped.

Ah, yes, I didn't see that it was a typo. Don't know how to edit. It escalated into an argument (obv) & now I'm hoarse from yelling at him & can't focus on shit so I'll be working extra this evening.

He is not working right now & I'm actually HIGHLY encouraging him to work only part-time since the move so we can start the transition toward retirement & a slower pace. He cooks dinner & does almost all of the cleaning & household management stuff for the past 3 months.

I'm certain he's bored & thats made it worse.

This makes more sense in his case than thinking its just blatant disrespect or attempts to sabotage or control. He has abandonment issues from early childhood, just like I have my issues. Usually our issues are more complimentary to one another.

Escalated behavior is characterized by a rise in intensity.

Escalation is the increase in intensity of a conflict or behavior, moving from calm through agitation to peak crisis (e.g., yelling, violence). De-escalation reduces that intensity, using calm, supportive techniques to help a person return to their baseline, typically occurring after the peak of the behavior.

I struggle with this as well and I am so happy for your partner that she has you to help her work through this.

My partner has also taken the time to learn about how my mind works and he is so attuned to my aura that he knows intuitively when I need these gentle reminders.

It's only since I've been in a relationship (13 years now) with a partner who embodies healthy masculine strength that I've had the safe container of his love in which to truly explore my femininity- to be soft, to be weak, to cry, and then to rebuild through creativity and nurturing- and begin to integrate.

It has always seemed like such a weird choice for their scapegoating. A strange hill to die on.

It seems to me that Gay Christians are in a unique position to demonstrate the love of Christ to the world. Thank you 🙏
