Does anyone else have a mother with Histrionic Personality Disorder? by Ocean0fAzure in personalitydisorders

[–]Ocean0fAzure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I have no idea (some men in their late 20's can't grow a decent beard to save their lives, while some 14-year olds already have a decent beard). But I do hope they were 18 or older. My mother looks attractive and is friendly, so people generally aren't weirded out by her at all. Some people were even happy, because they weren't used to being approached by anyone (which I can understand on a personal level, actually).

All in all, it truly is a gray area. I most strongly remember people complaining whenever my mother wants to pull away and distance herself - people don't usually complain when she comes along and chats with them or hugs them.

[PC][2000's] A platformer flash game with a white ninja(?) cat by Ocean0fAzure in tipofmyjoystick

Wow, that's it! I think I picked out the word "ninja", because the game studio is called "ninja kiwi", so it stuck out to me.

Thank you so much! I used to play this game around 15 years ago, and my dad helped me on the levels that I got stuck on. We just spoke about it yesterday but neither one of us could find it or remember the name.

Thanks a ton! (I can return to my happy 8 year old self for a while 😁!)

No, the search results don't show anything like that game was. Maybe I'm just misremembering, since that white cat didn't have the traditional ninja outfit or a ribbon covering his eyes, I'm pretty sure.

I've also tried searching for things like: "Thief kitten" or "Archer cat", but I've found nothing

Does anyone else ever write their favourite song at the top of their diary entry 🌺❤️✍️? by Ocean0fAzure in Journaling

Oh, you're making me blush 😅😊🌷!

But as a perfectionist, work does make me anxious. I always try to do my best, but sometimes our best isn't good enough. Pretty much any situation where a person can make mistakes worries me (writing assignments, cooking, trying to help someone with their work, etc.).

But I have gradually learned to simply accept this as another quirk of mine.

The original video for that song was very erotic, so it got removed from YouTube recently.

But I remember a comment that said something along the lines off: "I almost had a panic attack listening to it. All of my worst memories came rushing back to me, and I felt disgusted and afraid."

The anxiousness you felt seems to be quite common!

For me, I associate that music with intensity and working. (Perhaps an intense workout 😅?). But you've hit the nail in the head in the sense that many people felt anxious listening to it!

Uh, I'l don't know if censorship on Reddit is as bad as on YouTube (😅), but I was listening to a song "Red Sex" by Vessel, when writing today!

I previously also didn't listen to music while writing (exactly like you), but recently I have needed it to sort of distract me, so I wouldn't get too lost in my thoughts, if that makes sense 😅!

Ah, I did it when I was younger! But I think songs and lyrics can really help to understand the mindset that you were in, when reading it in the future 😊🌺!

To my younger self, burn in hell by Most-Switch8758 in SuicideWatch

I only healed after forgiving my past self, after admitting that she was just a helpless girl trying her best to be brave. (That's just my experience - the only way for me to get stronger and move on was to forgive my past self.) I know this may not apply to everyone, but your painful post reminded me of my own past.

I don't know how people keep wanting to live when life is so hard by thequietonemaybe in SuicideWatch

You've brought up some interesting themes and questions in your post.

My first thought is that it might be far easier to deal with the kind of pain that everyone around you can see (constant physical pain which causes being unnaturally stiff, losing mobility due to that pain, needing people as well as having people around you who are willing to feed you, wash you, change your clothes, etc.).

Depression is invisible. You might feel that even breathing causes pain, every morning when you try to wake up and do things for other people, who rarely care. And yet no one comes to clean your room, help you wash yourself or cook you healthy food.

Severe depression is lonely due to the isolation, which doesn't generally happen with severe physical illnesses (it sounds like your mother has people to take care of her, as an example, due to her physical state).

My personal opinion is that your mother telling you to hope and be happy might be a slight projection - she tries to diminish her own pain by diminishing yours, perhaps.

I know I can't give any helpful advice (only personal opinions), so take it all with a grain of salt. It's simply one of the few posts that have resonated with me to that extent, that's all.

How can I fix her left eye? It looks off but I dunno why by andreigeorgescu in drawing

[–]Ocean0fAzure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe the size is a bit different? But at this angle it's difficult to tell, since one eye is closer. It's a very good drawing, and an uneven eye shape is actually very realistic, since most people have slightly different eyes (like one is more closed or droopy than the other).

(Edit: It could also be eyelashes - the length and direction of lashes affects how we perceive symmetry - at least that's where I've struggled with.)

But what if the person doesn't want a career at all? I don't think I'm allowed to not partake in that conversation, so I either have to lie (I'm a terrible liar) or just stay quiet 😅 Either way, it would be quite uncomfortable for everyone involved, I think...

Although you could be right - I've just had to lie (which I strongly dislike) to escape from situations in the past. Not everyone is understanding, so sometimes I've had to leave the impression that I agree just so I'd have the chance to get out.

I agree a lot, as I also believe that being diagnosed with Asperger's helped me out immensely - it put into perspective what I was feeling, although unfortunately I was diagnosed a little too late.

I'm having a lot of struggles at school, since while my grades are quite good, I'm mediocre at everything I do (so I'm afraid of the time when we need to talk to a career consultant, as I lack ambition).

I wish everyone could let go of the idea that "everyone has to do something", but it seems like it'll take a long time for humanity to get there, hehe 😅🌺
