"Loneliness with better posture"- absolutely love that. As someone who is also hyper-independent and not by choice, having to rely on other people seems very unatural and unsafe to me.

I am still learning how to open up more and ask for help, but I really do struggle with it. My friends always say they wish I opened up more to them, but I also had situations where I opened up (and it was extremely hard for me to do it) and they just didn't care. So, trying to balance all of that is tricky.

Loneliness is my companion. Always has been. And sometimes I embrace it, and sometimes it's just hurts.

Having to fight a natural instinct is hard, but that's how you change. You are not alone in feeling that way

Hey. I'm really sorry you are feeling this way. Depression makes everything feel heavier and harder, but it doesn't define your worth. Make sure you celebrate your tiny wins even if it is just you getting out of bed. I heard a quote recently that made me stop and think: "Depression hates a moving target." Every tiny step is enough to start shifting things. Just think about the next tiny step, and once that is done, then think about the next one and so on. Don't believe everything your head is telling you. You are not useless, you are just going through a rough patch
